As President of the International Society of Craniofacial Surgery (ISCFS), I am delighted to welcome you to 17th Biennal Congress to be held in Cancun, Mexico from October 24th to 28th, 2017. I hope you will enjoy the beauty of the Mexican Caribbean at Cancun, a very unique place, where the history of the Maya culture reaches the modernism of the contemporary Mexico.
Nowadays, more than 50 years after Craniofacial Surgery was born, it is my sincere desire that we all will richly benefit for this experience and take back home new knowledge and richness of spirit to enhance our practice and results.
The ISCFS Officers and a selected group of Founding Members will work in highly specialized scientific program, in which each topic will be analyzed from the very basic to the most sophisticated and modern approach. Naturally we will include the "success", that fundamentally change the patient´s life, but also the "failures", they encourage us to explore further for different and better treatments, always trying to find the better smile from our patients. No doubt it will be an exciting and stimulating Scientific Program.
Our social program will also be very attractive and along with the natural beauty of the place, which itself renews the soul, the group will visit the pre-hispanic city of Chichen - Itza, one of the wonders of the world and sacred site of the New Mayan culture. Throughout its nearly 1,200-year history, different people have left their mark on the city and a full vision of the world and the universe is revealed in their stone monuments and artistic works.
Everybody is welcome to shake hands at the welcome cocktail, also to listen to the lectures honoring Paul Tessier and Fernando Ortiz Monasterio during the scientific sessions. As well on Friday night dress up elegant gowns for the gala dinner and share friendship, camaraderie and new perspectives. All these activities will be the ideal framework to enjoy wine and beer, local spicy food and high Mexican cuisine gastronomy, now so trendy around the world.
Please do not forget your swimsuit! You can not miss the chance to feel the pleasure of plunging into the turquoise and gently warm water in Cancun.
Receive my warmest regards!
