Illustrate the principles of laparoscopic colon resection for benign and malignant disease with an emphasis on complex cases.

Describe the available strategies to improve perioperative outcomes.

Cite the different techniques of anastomotic creation and the potential ways to avoid and treat anastomotic leaks.

Identify the different options for minimally invasive abdominal procedures including laparoscopy, hand assisted techniques, the use of the robot, and SILS.
