We cordially invite you to the 24th Annual Meeting of DEGRO in the Leipzig Exhibition Center.
Radio oncology has changed in recent years in many areas and poses increasing challenges to all professional groups. We are always following new, promising paths. Rapid technological and scientific progress provides us with the latest technologies, which in many clinical scenarios within interdisciplinary treatment concepts will also lead to an expansion of our treatment spectrum. For example, the successes in the field of tumor molecular genetics inevitably entail ever more complex decision-making paths and thus a further individualization of the treatments, which we physicians and nurses must face.
Significantly, medical physics characterizes technical evolution in many areas of the field, such as the implementation of modern diagnostic procedures in radiation planning. The increasing precision of the techniques and the variety of applications open up new possibilities, but also require the daily implementation of the MTRAs. Not least due to the hard work of many in the secretariats, registrations or study offices, we can continue to successfully master the care of our patients in the future.
Interdisciplinary symposia with well-known representatives of the occupational groups within the field of radio-oncology as well as other oncological disciplines will take place on the selected topics. In addition, a sufficient scientific platform for deepening knowledge is offered for the next generation as well.
Leipzig is one of the most important trading centers in Germany. Moreover, Leipzig is one of the oldest universities of medicine with more than 600 years. The city is characterized by a great musical tradition, which goes back to the work of Johann Sebastian Bach and Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdi. Today Leipzig is one of the fastest growing cities in Germany.
We celebrate the congress evening in the Moritzbastei, a remainder of the old city fortifications of Leipzig, which was expanded in 1979 as a student club and is now operated as a cultural center. In a relaxed atmosphere, you can end the day of the conference with music and culinary specialties.
I look forward to seeing you and greet you warmly.
