American Society For Microbiology (ASM) Conference on Mechanisms of Interbacterial Cooperation and Competition
THE OMNI SHOREHAM HOTELWashington, USA Visit the Venue to read more
Microbes commonly live in dense and genetically–diverse communities where each cell strongly affects the other cells around it. Sometimes cells help one another, other times they fight and die. These interactions are central to how microbes function as communities and how they affect us, via our own microbiome but also via polymicrobial infections and biofilms that display extreme antibiotic resistance.
The ASM Conference on Mechanisms of Interbacterial Cooperation and Competition will provide an overview of the exciting new research on cooperation and competition in microbes, from the detailed study of mechanism up to complex microbial communities and their interactions with a host.
