Event Overview
Welcome message:

Dear colleagues,

Obstetricians and Gynaecologists from all over the world take the opportunity to meet up at the EBCOG’s European Congress of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, usually once every two years.

Having moved from Portugal to Belgium and from Estonia to the United Kingdom, amongst many other locations over the past few years, the lovely city of Paris was now elected to celebrate the 26th Edition of this reuniting meeting.

From the 8th to the 10th of March, 2018, we will follow tradition and move for three whole days to the EBCOG Congress in order to learn from some of the most experienced and knowledgeable colleagues of all the major branches of our specialty.

But as tradition is not what it used to be, innovation will be our cornerstone. The mobile phone “App” will guide us through the program, with the possibility to interact with speakers. There will be live surgery and breakfast sessions including “meet the expert”, as well as an exciting science quiz at the end of the day, where organized teams will challenge other ones.

The scientific program is filled with high quality sessions and aims at pleasing all audiences: consultants, trainees, midwives and students. Everyone is invited to present their work and share research after the selection process, incorporating the program alongside invited speakers.

The theoretical knowledge sessions are separate from the skills sessions, allowing tutors and participants to attend both kinds without any interference. There will also be separate sessions for basic knowledge, video presentations and multidisciplinary action, counting on the presence of distinguished colleagues from other specialties closely related to ours.

There will be three types of skills sessions, based upon the level of practical exposure: handson-training, interactive sessions and masterclasses. We will have the chance to greet the new Fellows of EBCOG in the opening ceremony, in addition to other celebrations during the International Women’s Day. The six keynote lectures will hopefully inspire us all and will certainly guide some of our actions back home.

Besides establishing bonds and projects between countries or simply meeting old colleagues and friends while enjoying the sunset in Montmartre, the EBCOG awards for best work and the opportunity to publish your abstracts are just other reasons to come and join us for this exciting major EBCOG event in Paris.
