What will I learn from this cancer course?
This cancer course will include:
A review of the commonly available anti-cancer drugs including immunotherapies with emphasis on mode of action, dose intensity and chemotherapy regimes
A detailed study of the range of side-effects of cancer treatments
Quality of life issues in terms of overall assessment and result interpretation
The treatment of major tumor types: breast, lung, melanoma, upper gastrointestinal (GI), colorectal, ovarian and prostate cancer. Each session is presented by clinicians active in these areas and focus on overall patient presentation and management, cancer diagnosis and staging. Following each session our experts will lead delegates in interactive group discussion on the key issues relating to effective management of each tumor type
New drug development and identification of new pharmacological targets of particular interest and value. Clinical trial design issues will also be included.
