Our national speakers will present and critically assess recent advancements and industry updates in Primary Care Rheumatology, Musculoskeletal, and Endocrinology issues, with the goal of enhancing the knowledge base and core competence of attendees. The successful completion of this interactive program should improve attendees’ confidence in diagnosing, treating, and prescribing the most effective courses of treatment, with the ultimate goal of improving patient outcomes.

Clinical Approach to Rheumatic Diseases

Objectives: 1) Construct an approach to the evaluation of the patient with rheumatic disease 2) Define the central role of the history and physical examination 3) Differentiated several patterns that allow clinical diagnosis of rheumatic diseases

Laboratory and Radiology in Rheumatic Diseases

Objectives: 1) Interpret the various classes of synovial fluid analysis 2) Determine the use and limitations of laboratory testing with emphasis on the American College of Rheumatology Choosing Wisely recommendations 3) Discuss key radiological findings in patients with rheumatic diseases

Crystalline Arthropathies

Objectives: 1) Apply principles from the 2012 American College of Rheumatology Guidelines in the diagnosis and treatment of crystal arthropathies including gout and pseudogout 2) Outline the sequence of treatment to achieve the best outcomes for patients with gout 3) State the goal serum uric acid level for patients with gout


Objectives: 1) Identify patients who are at risk for osteoporosis and should be evaluated with bone density testing as recommended by the International Society of Clinical Densitometry and National Osteoporosis Foundation Guidelines 2) Recommend the various non-pharmacological treatments for osteoporosis as recommended by the National Bone Health Alliance 3) Recommend the various pharmacological treatments for osteoporosis as recommended by the National Bone Health Alliance
