Event Overview
Welcome message:

Venice is globally renowned for its incomparable setting, its outstanding architecture and its stunning works of art – hence its listing as a World Heritage Site. It must surely be the world’s most romantic city. Names such as Casanova, Vivaldi, Titian, Tintoretto, Palladio and Canaletto are among a few of those who are inextricably linked with the city.

We visited Venice in 2013 and fell in love with this city, vowing to return. We invite you to join us.

Tradition and the available evidence have lead several historians to agree that the original population of Venice consisted of refugees from Roman cities. Traditionally, its founding is identified with the dedication of the first church, San Giacomo, at the islet of Rialto, which is said to have taken place at the stroke of noon on 25th March, 421.

The Republic of Venice was a major maritime power during the Middle Ages and Renaissance. It was a staging area for the Crusades, as well as a very important center of commerce (especially silk, grain, and spices) and art in the 13th century up to the end of the 17th century. This made Venice a wealthy city throughout most of its history. It is also known for its several important artistic movements, especially the Renaissance period. Venice has played an important role in the history of symphonic and operatic music, and it is the birthplace of Antonio Vivaldi.
