Intended Audience

This activity was developed for physicians, nurses with critical care, telemetry/ step down and emergency medicine experience, respiratory therapists, and other allied health professionals.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will do the following:

• Identify the global scope of geriatric trauma

• Describe minimally invasive extracorporeal life support technology and its novel applications

• Explain the etiology, assessment and manifestations of acute delirium in the intensive care unit (ICU)

• Apply the principles and modalities of hemodynamic monitoring

Pharmacy Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will do the following:

• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other members of the patient care team to provide optimal
pharmaceutical care to patients receiving treatment in the intensive care unit

This activity will address professional practice gaps in knowledge.
