The Asia Pacific Congress of Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology (APCCVIR) is the premier event on the interventional radiology calendar for the Asia Pacific region. Both Interventional Radiology and the Asia Pacific region are anticipated to witness tremendous growth in the coming years.
It is opportune that the 11th Asia Pacific Congress of Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology (APCCVIR 2014) will be held in Singapore, from 15th to 18th May 2014 at the Academia, Singapore General Hospital Campus. This meeting is jointly organized by the College of Radiologists, Singapore (CRS) and the Singapore Radiological Society (SRS), incorporating the Annual Scientific Meeting of CRS and SRS and hosted by the Asia Pacific Society of Cardiovascular & Interventional Radiology (APSCVIR), with the theme ‘InspIRation’.
APCCVIR 2014 aims to bring together doctors, nurses, radiographers, related paramedical staff and industry in all fields of Radiology and Interventional Radiology. The scientific programme aims to inspire all participants by exposing them to new perspectives in clinical developments in these exciting fields. It will not only focus on the emerging issues in Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology, but also contain specialised tracks in Diagnostic Radiology, Radiation Oncology and Nuclear Medicine. The programme will also cater to young practitioners of Interventional Radiology with the organisation of dedicated scientific sessions, workshops and hands-on sessions to inspire them as they develop their career in this exciting field.
There will also be an exciting social programme held at attractive venues to inspire networking among congress participants. We look forward to your support and participation in APCCVIR 2014, and to welcoming you to the vibrant island of Singapore.
Dr Bien Soo TAN
On behalf of the College of Radiologists, I would like to welcome you to the 11th Asia Pacific Congress of Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology in Singapore.
Since inception the College has promoted professionalism, education and research in the radiological science and arts in diagnostic and therapeutic radiology and nuclear medicine subspecialties. The maturing subspecialization of interventional radiology as a distinct and growing area of endeavor has been an exciting journey for our College Fellows. Nevertheless, significant challenges lie ahead, and the APCCVIR meeting, concurrent with this year’s Annual Scientific Meeting, will hopefully provide some insightful glimpses into the future.
This year, in commemoration of a pioneering radiologist who had played a pivotal role in the founding and development of radiology in Singapore, we are pleased to introduce the F Y Khoo Memorial Lecture, to be given by Professor Lenny Tan of the National University Health System.
We congratulate him on this prestigious honor, and wish all participants a fruitful and rewarding Conference.

College of Radiologists Singapore
On behalf of the Singapore Radiological Society (SRS), I bid you welcome to a brand new chapter in the history of the Asia Pacific Congress of Cardiovascular and International Radiology (APCCVIR). It is with great pleasure that we host the 11th APCCVIR 2014 in conjunction with our 23rd Annual Scientific Meeting. This endeavour attests to the months of hard work put in by the members of the Cardiovascular & Interventional Radiology subsection of the SRS and the organizing committee. Incidentally, we will be launching the SRS coffee table book at this year’s meeting, which documents the journey of our Society since inception. We will also be awarding the inaugural CRS/SRS Lifetime Achievement Medal to pioneers in our fraternity in recognition of their contributions during the gala dinner. Besides interventional radiology, you will find interesting sessions in interventional radiation oncology, radiology nursing, the advanced abdominal and pelvic imaging course and the 2nd SRS-AIRP course.
On that note, I hope that even as you are intellectually inspIRed by our carefully constructed scientific programme, you may concurrently be gastronomically and culturally elevated by the delights our sunny little island has to offer.
