We look forward to welcoming you to Nice and to the next European Glaucoma Society Congress in June 2014.

Each new EGS Congress builds on past successes: newly-established standards, a varied and stimulating scientific programme and a wide range of instructional courses pitched at different levels to meet varying needs in our audience are the main features of our meetings.

An extensive array of scienti­fic posters as well as Special Interest Groups and a vast exhibition add to the variety of this well established scientific gathering that has been able to attract trainees, general ophthalmologists and glaucomatologists alike. Hotel accommodation can be reserved at reduced rates in Nice through the Organizing Secretariat OIC.

In order to benefit from the reservation for the different hotel facilities available in Nice, participants may proceed with the on-line reservation system CLICKING HERE.

The indicated room/night rates and availabilities are only applicable for reservations made through the Organizing Secretariat OIC and received by 1st May 2014 at the latest.

The indicate rates are in Euro, per room per night and include breakfast, taxes and service.

A municipal touristic tax will be charged by the hotels in addition to the rooms’ costs, payable upon check-out:

• € 1,50 per person per night for reservations in 5 star hotels and 4 star hotels
• € 1,00 per person per night for reservations in 3 star hotels.

The complete list of the hotels with rates, availability and location is available into the on-line registration platform or contacting the Organizing Secretariat OIC.

After the above mentioned deadline accommodation cannot be guaranteed although OIC will make every effort to meet the participants’ requests upon availability.

Agencies or companies in need for group reservations higher than 5 rooms follow a dedicated procedure by contacting the Organizing Secretariat OIC.

Submission Info

The abstract submission is only possible on-line. Abstracts submitted by fax or mail will not be accepted.

Abstract Preparation

Experiments and data must be completed at the time of the abstract submission. Abstracts for papers already published or accepted before the 11^th EGS congress deadline will not be accepted. Scientific material submitted to the 2014 ARVO meeting are exempted from this rule; however this fact must be clearly indicated in the abstract. Only abstracts structured with PURPOSE, METHODS, RESULTS, CONCLUSIONS each addressed separately will be reviewed. Abstracts lacking a description of study methodology and a quantitative description of data will not be accepted. The Scientific Programme Committee aims for 'to the point' informative abstracts. Extensive presentations overloaded with details should be avoided.

Multiple submissions of the same topic on different abstracts will be rejected. The Abstract must be written in English.

Please follow very carefully the instructions before submitting the abstract. Abstracts will be on line for review by the submitting author until the submission deadline.

• Note: When selecting a Reviewing Code, please choose carefully. The Reviewing code you select will determine which Scientific Section your abstract will be destined to.
• All accepted abstracts are assigned to a poster presentation at the discretion of the EGS Scientific Committee. Do not submit an abstract if you do not intend to present it at the Congress yourself. Once programmed, abstract presentation times and locations cannot be changed. Authors who are unable to attend and make their presentation as scheduled must notify the Organizing Secretariat OIC and withdraw their abstract atabstractegs2014@oic.it.
• In order to publish the text of the abstract on the website and on the final programme, the First Author is asked to fill in the online ‘Commercial Relationships Policy Form’, upon abstract submission. 

To be able to present your poster you have to complete your registration byMarch 31, 2014. You can submit only one abstract as first author but you can be co-author in other abstracts.

Style

The abstract, not exceeding 350 words, must be written in English and structured in the following four specified subtitles: Purposes, Methods, Results and Conclusion(s).
