The Italian Association of Neuro-Oncology (AINO) is honoured to host the 11th EANO 2014 meeting in Turin, and invites you to join this outstanding event for neurooncology in Europe and worldwide. Over the last two decades there has been an explosive growth of knowledge and interest in neuro-oncology. Nowadays the proper management of neuro-oncological patients requires specific experience and training. The EANO is a multidisciplinary and multiprofessional society aiming to provide science, standards of care, education, and communication. In this regard, EANO 2014 will give the opportunity to share the most up-to-date advances in basic science, translational and clinical research. All fields of neuro-oncology will be covered, such as biology and pathology, imaging, surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, targeted therapies, supportive/palliative care and quality of life.

Turin is an attractive city located in Northern Italy between the Alps and the Mediterranean sea. Turin was the first Italian capital between 1861 and 1865 and its historical importance is shown by many architectural masterpieces, like the Mole Antonelliana, which is the hallmark of the city and the Reggia di Venaria, a Royal Residency. Moreover, the Egyptian Museum is the second most important in the world.

From the beginning of the 20th century, Turin became a strong industrial centre. The Lingotto building is an example of the industrial transformation of the city. In the last years, Turin changed once again its attitude and mood, hosting the 2006 Winter Olympics Games and becoming a more international and welcoming city.

How to make a hotel reservation

We have blocked rooms in a wide range of hotels located near the congress venue and in the city centre. To see a complete list of hotels available click here.

Please make sure to have your reservation confirmed within 22nd September 2014. After this date room reservation will not be guaranteed. 
A voucher will be sent out as confirmation of your reservation.

Guarantee/ payment of hotel reservation

Every reservation must be guaranteed by credit card.

A reservation fee of € 20,00 (VAT 21% included) will be charged on the credit card upon confirmation of the booking. AIM GROUP International - AIM Congress – Milan Office will issue an invoice for the charged reservation fee.

The credit card will be kept as a guarantee for the hotel reservation in case of penalty. No further cost will be charged on it.

The payment of the total number of nights booked will be requested by the hotel upon check-out. The hotel will issue an invoice directly upon payment.

Cancellation policy

Any change or cancellation of the hotel reservation must be sent in writing to AIM Group International – Aim Congress – Milan Office

AIM Group – Aim Congress – Milan Office reserves the right to charge on the given credit card the following cancellation fees:

• Before 25th August 2014: only reservation fee (€ 20,00) will be kept
• Before 22nd September 2014: one night accommodation will be charged
• From 22nd September 2014: 100% of the foreseen total amount will be charged
• No show (cancellation within 48 hours from check-in date): 100% of the foreseen total amount will be charged

Please Note

The rooms booked will be available to the participants for the first night of the reservation. In case of no-show the reservation will be automatically cancelled.

Turin City tax - IMPORTANT

Participants will have to pay the levy upon check out in addition to the hotel bill as follows:

• Euro 3.20 per person per night for guests staying at 4-star hotels.
• Euro 2,30 per person per night for guests staying at 3-star hotels and at all other types of accommodation.

ABSTRACT REGULATIONS

With the submission of an abstract to EANO XI, the presenting author:

• confirms that all authors are aware of and agree to the content of the abstract and support the data presented;
• accepts to be the contact person for all correspondence about the abstract and inform co-authors about its status;
• warrants that the data and conclusions presented in the abstract have not been published prior to the date of the EANO XI conference. Abstracts containing previously published material will be rejected;
• states that for studies involving human or animal subjects, permission has been obtained from the relevant regulatory authority, and properly informed consent give where appropriate;
• accepts responsibility for the accuracy of the submitted abstract;
• acknowledges that once the abstract is submitted, changes, corrections or rewording are possible until deadline of abstract submission (March 23, 2014);
• accepts the publication of the abstract within an issue of the Neuro-Oncology journal.

Careful typing and proof-reading are essential as the abstract will appear, if accepted, as submitted.

ACCEPTANCE AND SELECTION OF ABSTRACTS

All submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the Scientific Programme Committee in April 2014, and authors will be notified by email at the latest end of May 2014.

Abstract selection: Some accepted abstracts will be selected for oral presentation, some will be presented as posters.

Accepted abstracts will be published in an issue of the Neuro-Oncology journal.

AFFIRMATION REGARDING REGISTRATION

Important Note: At least 1 author (presenting author) of this abstract is obliged to register and pay the congress registration fee within 3 weeks (see congress website) after notification on acceptance. In the event of non-fulfillment the abstract will be withdrawn by the organizers.

ABSTRACT FORMAT

• The abstract must be submitted in good English.
• The text must not exceed 2500 characters excluding spaces, title and authors.
• A maximum of two institutions per author is allowed.
• No more than 10 authors can be listed.
• No tables, no graphs or illustrations are allowed.
• No literature must be cited.
