With Asian countries playing increasingly important roles in new drug trials, cancer therapies, and cancer research, we should not only help ensure we’re apprised of current developments in our field but also reflect on our progress and look toward future challenges. The 11th international conference of the Asian Clinical Oncology Society is the ideal event for this.
The conference will be held in Taipei, a vibrant city offering a wide array of sights and activities, and the political, economic, educational, and recreational capital of Taiwan. Early May, when the conference will be held, usually has pleasant weather, so you may be able to enjoy some of Taiwan’s spectacular natural scenery while you are here.
It is our great honor and pleasure to have the opportunity to hold the ACOS international conference again in Taiwan, Asia’s new must-see destination. We look forward to welcoming you to the 11th ACOS conference in 2014.
Sincerely yours,

Invitation Message
As the president of the Asian Clinical Oncology Society (ACOS), it is my great honor and pleasure to welcome all of you to the 11th International Conference of the ACOS to be held from May 2 (Fri) to May 4 (Sun), 2014 at the Taipei International Convention Center in Taipei, Taiwan. The 11th ACOS is being organized by the great efforts of conference president Prof. Tsang-Wu Liu, chairman of the local organizing committee Prof. Jaqcqueline Whang-Peng, chairman of scientific program committee, Prof. Jang-Yang Chang, ACOS council members in Taiwan and many more local staff members. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all of our members in Taiwan for making this conference possible.
The ACOS International Conference is held every two years in one of our various member countries in Asia. We cover a wide range of topics in cancer such as prevention, epidemiology, statistics, multidisciplinary treatment i.e. surgical therapy, chemotherapy including oriental medicine, radiotherapy, as well as patient care under high grade development of translational research. We believe that cancer treatment and research are in a new era of rapid and significant developments not only in the West but also in Asia as well. Due to new developments, we can readily use many high-tech diagnostic tools, new anticancer drugs, molecular targeting chemotherapy, less invasive and/or less expensive therapy that were unavailable in the near past. Therefore, it is crucial for young doctors of Asia to communicate openly with foreign opinion leaders, investigators, medical and surgical oncologists through your presentations and vigorous discussion.
As you know, Taiwan is a vibrant capital city with highly developed and active political, economic and academic systems. It also has an internationally acclaimed public healthcare service. Taiwan is on the leading edge with regards to development in the field of oncology. This makes Taiwan an ideal choice for our conference, and the main theme of the 11th ACOS; New Frontiers in Cancer Therapy– Challenges for Oncologists in Asia, is the most exciting title.
What’s more, the pleasant weather expected in early May will hopefully make for not only the conference but also your private excursions an enjoyable experience.
We strongly believe that the 11th ACOS will help bring about substantial improvement in both cancer therapy and cancer research for all Asian cancer patients. I appreciate all of your cooperation and hard work to make this conference a great success and I hope to see many participants from Asian countries in Taipei, Taiwan 2014.
Sincerely yours
