Event Overview
Welcome message:

Radiologists must be aware of the changes and developments in all areas of radiology (MR, CT, US, X-ray) including Abdominal, Thoracic, Breast and Musculoskeletal imaging, in order to maintain certification and optimize patient care. It is imperative that radiologists stay up-to-date on the latest imaging protocols and be aware of technological advances and how to incorporate them into their everyday practice. Several important topics to be covered include: imaging pancreatic adenocarcinoma, imaging MR of soft tissue tumors, mammography/sonography, diffusion-weighted imaging in the abdomen and pelvis and lung cancer screening with CT. The essentials presented in this program are meant to be integrated into the participants' practice in an effort to improve their current knowledge, imaging skills and ultimately to improve patient care.

Educational Objectives

After participating in this activity, clinicians should be able to:

-Describe different methods and techniques to decrease acquisition time, and improve robustness of abdominal MR acquisition

-Describe the use of US imaging to assess various structures in the musculoskeletal system and how it limits patient exposure to ionizing radiation associated with CT or X-ray

-Identify the proper techniques to use when utilizing CT enterography to evaluate Crohn's Disease, detect small tumors and assess GI bleeding

-Evaluate the current recommendations for screening mammography and how these guidelines will impact individual patient risk
