Abstracts should meet all of the following specifications in order to be considered for scheduling:

Language:

Abstracts should be written in English. The WorldMEN 2016 organizers reserve the right to correct abstracts for obvious spelling or grammatical errors without the authors’ consent.

Title:

Each abstract should have a brief descriptive title of maximally 20 words (140 characters, including spaces) and should be written in sentence case. Trademarks are not allowed in the abstract title.

Authors:

Names, institutional affiliations, cities, and countries of all contributing authors should be provided. Authors’ first name and middle name (if any) initials, followed by his or her last name as entered, will appear on the abstract when it will be published. Authors names will appear in the order entered by the submitting author. The presenting author (not necessarily the first author) should be identified. All communications regarding an abstract will go to the submitting author, irrespective the designation of the presenting author. Please verify that your email address (submitter and presenting author) is correct as it will be used for contacting you after the review process.

Text:

The abstract text should not exceed 400 words (2600 characters, including spaces). If an illustration (photograph/table/figure) is uploaded for inclusion in the abstract, the maximum allowable word count is 300 (2100 characters including spaces). For your abstract you may consider the following outline:

Aim: Clearly state the purpose of the abstract.

Methods: Describe your selection of observations or experimental subjects clearly.

Results: Present your results in a logical sequence in text and tables.

Conclusions: Emphasize new and important aspects of the study (perhaps as a discussion section) and the conclusions that are drawn from them.

The identity of technologies (approved or experimental) mentioned should be disclosed in the abstract text or by making reference to publicly accessible sources. Trademarks may be included in the abstract text between brackets, but only once and only the first time the product/service/technology is mentioned.

No identifying features such as names of authors, hospitals, medical schools, clinics or cities may be listed in the title or abstract text, as a “blind” review process will be used. You will be asked to enter the name(s) of author(s) and their institution(s), when you submit your abstract online.

All abbreviations must be defined in first use. Statements such as “results will be discussed” or “data will be presented” cannot be accepted.

Use of brand names:

Generic names must be used for all references to products or companies. The brand name can be inserted as a reference at the bottom of the abstract page. Papers containing brand names/company names in the abstract text (i.e. not in a reference at the bottom of the page) may be rejected for this reason only. The WorldMEN 2016 committee reserves the right to replace any brand name with a generic name without further notice.

Illustrations:

One simple figure/table/photograph is allowed. Make reference to the illustration at the appropriate place in the abstract text and provide a brief caption for the illustration.

References and Acknowledgements:

A maximum of three literature references may be added at the end of the abstract text. State only the first author’s name and bibliography (not the title of the paper) of each reference. Mention all sources of funding of the work described and other acknowledgements briefly at the end of the abstract text.

References and acknowledgements are included in the 400 word count for the abstract text.

Abstract topic:

When asked to select an abstract topic from the pull-down menu, select the abstract topic matching the content of your abstract best. If none of the pre-specified topics applies to your abstract, while it fits the scope of WorldMEN 2016, select “Other”. The organizers reserve the right to change abstract topics for the purpose of presentation scheduling.

Submission:

Once you have completed all mandatory fields, you may submit your abstract or save it without actually submitting it such that you may return to your abstract to complete and submit it at a later time. However, an abstract not actually submitted before the abstract submission deadline (May 25, 2016) will not be considered for presentation at the congress.

After submission, you cannot change abstract content anymore. Should changes be necessary after submission, the WorldMEN 2016 Secretariat will advise you how changes could be implemented. Please, note that changes cannot be implemented after May 25, 2016 and that abstracts cannot be withdrawn after this date.

Copyrights, editing and publication: Submission of an abstract implies the exclusive, unrestricted granting of copyrights on the abstract ‘s content to the WorldMEN 2016 conference organizer and its partners/publishers.

Accepted abstracts will be published on the WorldMEN 2016 conference website from the time of the conference. Publishing the abstracts in an indexed journal is under consideration. Further announcements will be made before May  1, 2016.
