Event Overview
Welcome message:

With Rotterdam being the destination of our next Psycho-Oncology World Congress, we can look forward to the warmth and quaintness of a beautiful old community combined with access to modern Europe.  Located just 30 minutes by train from Schiphol Airport and the capital city of Amsterdam, Rotterdam is indeed a beautiful venue for our meetings.  We are partnering with NVPO, the Netherlands Psycho-Oncology Society for this Congress.
The Netherlands has a rich history in quality of life research that has contributed significantly to research and patient care globally.  With the theme of the 15th Congress, Innovation in Psycho-Oncology: Clinical Care, Research and Advocacy, we look forward to our international psycho-oncology colleagues joining us in the celebration of our work in Rotterdam, 4 – 8 November 2013.
Our choice of the Netherlands for IPOS 2013 will help us to continue to learn about each other’s research and clinical activities as well as foster new opportunities.  The site of the congress will be at the Beurs - World Trade Center, an ultramodern facility that can easily accommodate our group.  As well, there are several hotels within walking distance of the Congress venue that are reasonably priced.  In your off time you will find 15 museums, pleasant walkways to stroll around, good places with good food, and venues in which to visit with colleagues and meet new friends, all within 15 minutes walking distance of the conference centre.
The NVPO committee, in collaboration with our IPOS World Congress Committee, have been working diligently over the past year in such a friendly and collaborative manner that I can say we have a great shared enthusiasm about our 2013 meeting.  If you have attended IPOS World Congresses in the past, we are confident you will be pleased with what is planned.  If you have not been to a World Congress of Psycho-Oncology, then you are missing something special.  If you are connected to cancer care in any way, IPOS 2013 is a must, and we look forward to you joining us next year in Rotterdam!
Warm regards,
Barry D. Bultz
President, IPOS
