Submission Info

As more patients suffer due to the shortage of life-saving donor organs each year, the American Society of Transplant Surgeons (ASTS) is focusing its Winter Symposium on innovative science and effective public policy to combat this crisis. Join us in Miami in January 2016 to learn what is being done to save lives through expanding organ transplantation—and how you can help.

Abstract Submission and Review Process

All submissions will be done electronically. You may submit as many abstracts as you wish. Abstracts presented or accepted for presentation by a young investigator (defined as a medical student, resident, or fellow) at an ASTS or AST national meeting within the previous year may also be submitted to the American Transplant Congress (ATC).

All abstracts are blinded for peer review and ranked on the basis of scientific merit, and the goal is to perform a scientifically rigorous review process to select abstracts that present strong, balanced, and evidence-based clinical content, without the perception of bias.

The submission of abstracts related to clinical or basic research, surgical technique, or surgical practice that is new, innovative, or visionary is encouraged. Abstracts that address basic but controversial aspects of surgical management are also encouraged.  Select abstracts will be accepted for oral, mini-oral, or poster presentations.
