This educational forum intended for the public at large, aims to provide information about the latest research in the early detection of Alzheimer’s disease and the results from clinical drug trials, including prevention studies. The forum will allow the audience to interact with top scientists in the field in the presence of a moderator. The Forum is a free event to the public.

Upon completion of the event, attendees should be able to:

Explain the role of genetics in neurodegenerative and vascular diseases of the brain.

Discuss the role of cognitive and brain reserve in the neuropsychological diagnosis of normal and abnormal aging.

Describe mild behavioral impairment (MBI) and epidemiological evidence for neuropsychiatric symptoms as predictors of MCI and dementia.

List important clinical trials in asymptomatic and prodromal Alzheimer’s disease.

Summarize the evidence for the effect of multilingualism on brain and cognitive functioning.
