Event Overview
Welcome message:

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

It is my great pleasure to invite you to Prague, the site of the upcoming ESID meeting in 2014.

The traditional excellence of an ESID scientific program will reflect the dynamics of the current period marked by a recent unprecedented development of novel technologies and will showcase the expanding and changing field of primary immunodeficiencies.

Aside from the exciting scientific program, there is also the city itself. Prague promises a truly remarkable experience. The city mirrors the ages of European history that has passed through this place located in the heart of Europe. Famous for its mysterious atmosphere, Prague will virtually enable you to feel how old historical memories advance to modern times. The relatively recent transition from a deep and frightening communist era to modern and vibrant city is also visible, and represents a special feature characteristic of Prague.

Czech Republic, however, is not only its capital. Brno, the second major city of the Czech Republic, was the place where Johann Gregor Mendel performed his famous experiments that have formed the basis of Mendelian genetic laws. Such historical reminiscence has to be particularly important for scientists and physicians working in the field of primary immunodeficiencies. Representatives of the Museum of J.G. Mendel in Brno will come and share with us some historical details from his work during the introductory lectures.

Please save the date and come to Prague in 2014 to enjoy excellent science and to explore Prague.
