Program Description

Gaps in the level of Hemoglobin A1C, BP, and LDL-Cholesterol reduction continue to occur in high-risk individuals with Type 2 diabetes, Hypertension, and Dyslipidemia, respectively. Recent results from the ACCORD, VADT, and ADVANCE studies suggest the benefits on reducing macrovascular disease events are unclear and, in fact, caution should be exercised when reducing Hemoglobin A1C in those with long standing Type 2 diabetes to a goal of < 6% when compared to a goal between 7 and 7.9%. In addition, controversy continues from recent guidelines on the level of LDL-cholesterol and BP reduction that can be and should be achieved. This conference will address these and other issues confronting the clinician who treats patients with diabetes, hypertension, and dyslipidemia. The participant will learn the most current information on these issues and will be able to transport these clinical principles back to their every day practice to improve patient care.

Program Objectives

At the completion of this activity, participants should be better prepared to:

  • Discuss goals, medications and controversies surrounding management of patients with Diabetes, Hypertension and Dyslipidemia.
  • Describe appropriate treatment plans for these individuals.
  • Apply new learning to improve health outcomes involving patients with Diabetes, Hypertension, and Dyslipidemia.

Target Audience

This activity is designed for physicians specializing in Internal Medicine, Family or General Practice, Geriatric Medicine, Endocrinology, Lipidology and Hypertension Specialists. Healthcare professionals including physician assistants and nurse practitioners specializing in these areas or those managing patients with Hypertension, Diabetes, and/or Hyperlipidemia, alone or in combination, may benefit from this activity.

General Info
Continuing Education Company allows for a limited number of exhibits at specific CME Educational Conferences. Exhibits are located in an area separate from the educational sessions but are very accessible to doctors attending the conference. Acceptance of exhibits is at the discretion of Continuing Education Company. Pharmaceutical exhibits will not be considered, only related medical or lifestyle products.

The main purpose of having exhibitors present at our conferences is to allow the physicians attending access to information and products that will enhance their knowledge and/or personal enrichment. This could include medical equipment and software, educational and resource books, practice management technology, financial and insurance services and products, travel and leisure opportunities.

Exhibiting at a Continuing Education Company conference is very beneficial as you will have the opportunity to interact face-to-face with family and internal medicine physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants. It will allow you to expand your prospective and existing relationships, introduce products and services and generate new sales leads.

Due to the intimate nature of our conferences, exhibitors will receive a table and two chairs – no large booths or signs will be allowed.

If you are interested in applying for an exhibitor spot please call Barbara Lyons at (516) 882-5551, ext 101 or Walter Ejnes at (516) 822-5551, ext 100. You can also email us at Barbara@CMEmeeting.org. An exhibitor packet including prices will be emailed to you.
