On behalf of the International Society for Computer Assisted Orthopaedic Surgery (CAOS), I would like to personally extend an invitation to our industry partners to participate in the 13th meeting of the International Society for Computer Assisted Orthopaedic Surgery being held June 13-15, 2013, in Orlando, FL.
The key opinion leaders in the field of surgical navigation, robotics, and other new surgical enhancement technologies will be there from North America and around the world. We will be introducing a strong and diverse North American faculty to compliment the International faculty to enhance the educational program.
To insure the success of the marketing program, CAOS 2013 is being fully supported by ICJR (International Congress for Joint Replacement) and its management and marketing team.
Computer Assisted Orthopaedic Surgery has been around for 15 years and robotics even longer. The need for improved surgical accuracy in orthopaedics remains paramount. Registry data, outcome studies, retrieval studies, and large population studies clearly demonstrate the absolute need for these technologies to advance. This meeting is the best venue to introduce and advance these new innovative enabling technologies in robotics; new improvements in classic optical navigation, and other potentially game changing technologies such as custom implant and shape fitting instruments.
This year, the meeting will be held at the Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista Hotel and Conference Center. This venue, meeting dates, and the educational program is set specifically to provide the absolute best opportunity for attendees to test drive the newest technologies, discuss the potential benefits with experts, personally evaluate the technologies potential strengths and weaknesses, and hear major advocates and detractors debate the usefulness and cost effectiveness of the new technologic advances presented.
The successful preceding meetings in Davos, Santa Fe, Marbella, Chicago, Helsinki, Heidelberg, Montreal, Hong Kong, Boston, Paris, London, and Seoul have set a high standard of quality educational content. The initial estimates for attendance for this meeting due to the location, marketing strategy, timing, economy, and ease of transportation is anticipated to be the largest attendance in CAOS International history.
I look forward to welcoming you to Orlando in June 2013 and anticipate a meeting that will be enlightening, rewarding, and enjoyable for all who attend.
Robert L. Thornberry, M.D.
President of CAOS-International 2013
