It is with pleasure that we would like to invite you to join us at the 42th ESAO meeting to be held in Leuven, Belgium, on September 2nd – 5th 2015.
The European Association for Artificial Organs is a society of researchers interested in the crucial interface between medical device and the human body. Historically, areas of research concern renal, cardiac and pulmonary applications. Over the years, other areas (liver, pancreas, eye, ear, bone, cell and gene therapy, biomaterials, tissue engineering, organ preservation, robotics …) have been developed and are addressed.
This year’s theme is ‘Artificial Organs Tailor Made’. The theme reflects the clinical need to personalized medicine and to apply this goal to artificial organs.
We invite you to share your experience with researchers from different countries and disciplines and interact with experts from the industry. We invite you as well to make friends and to enjoy the social activities.
Leuven is a small town, situated close to Brussels airport. It hosts a university with longstanding tradition, an academic hospital and a lively spin-off industry in biomedical applications. More importantly, its historic town center is inviting to stroll and to have a nice time.
On behalf of the organizing team,
