2016 ICIS – CYTOKINES
Hyatt Regency San Francisco #San Francisco, USA
We would like to welcome you to the 4th Annual Meeting of the International Cytokine and Interferon Society (ICIS) that will take place in San Francisco between 16-19 October 2016.
The objective of the meeting is to promote interactions between scientists performing cutting-edge studies of the molecular mechanisms of cytokine and interferon function, signal transduction, and gene expression in the context of health and disease. Working with the scientific advisory committee composed of leading investigators from academia and industry, an outstanding scientific program is planned.
Please mark your calendar for 16-19 October 2016 and watch the website for more information on the program. Also, look for the free Smartphone/iPad App, Cytokines2016, coming later this year.
The Keynote speaker this year is Dr Yasmine Belkaid from the National Institutes of Health. Dr Belkaid is a world-leader in the areas of cytokine regulation of host defense, inflammation and tissue protection. Her research has spanned areas of immunity to infection, host-microbiota interactions and regulation of effector and regulatory T cell function. Dr Belkaid is an outstanding speaker and an excellent colleague to launch the 2016 meeting.
Each day of the meeting will begin with an exciting plenary session, topics include inflammation and cancer, mechanisms of host defense and regulation of innate and adaptive immunity. Additional major- and mini-symposia will cover topics including microbiota-immune interactions, cytokine regulation of cellular metabolism, epigenetic regulation of cytokine signaling, interferons and host defense, innate immunity, cytokines and metabolic disease, primary immuno-deficiencies, innate lymphoid cell biology and to the clinic - emerging therapies. There will also be multiple venues to promote networking for trainees and junior faculty with established investigators and representatives from biotech, pharma and scientific journals. There will also be multiple open speaker slots for selected abstracts and multiple trainee travel awards. More information about the meeting and the application process for the society awards can be found on the website.
The conference venue and hotel arrangements are confirmed for the Hyatt Regency Hotel at Embarcadero Center. This is a large atrium hotel with views of the Bay and cityscape. State of the art meeting facilities combine with a relaxing atmosphere to be the perfect meeting venue.
On behalf of all participants, we would like to express our gratitude to the meeting’s Sponsors and Exhibitors. The dissemination of knowledge that takes place at such meetings and the interactions and collaborations that are established are essential for future advances in biomedical research. Successful meetings simply would not be possible without substantial support from corporations, foundations, and institutes.
We look forward to seeing you in what promises to be an exciting and timely meeting.

Delegates who would like to present their work at the meeting, either orally or as a poster, are invited to submit an abstract for consideration by the Scientific Committee.
Abstracts are accepted on a wide range of themes including immune regulation of inflammation and cancer, the microbiota and regulation of inflammation, cytokine regulation of cellular metabolism, cytokine signaling and epigenetics, interferons: regulators of immunity and inflammation, innate and adaptive immune mechanisms of host defense, cytokines and metabolic diseases, and other topics.
Please refer to the instructions here below so as to ensure a smooth and successful abstract submission.
The corresponding topic must be selected to ensure correct scoring of the abstract. The content of the abstract must be topic related. The papers will be peer-reviewed and selected for poster or oral presentation.
A paper should not be submitted to the 4th Annual Meeting of the International Cytokine and Interferon Society if the full paper has been already published.
For standardization, the acceptable length of the abstract is of maximum 3’600 characters and 45 lines. This includes the author’s details, titles and non-visible characters, such as spaces and line breaks.
The Cytokines 2016 Annual Meeting will be a key meeting in the world of biomedical research.
This year, the meeting will address the following topic: Cytokines and interferons: master controllers of immunity, inflammation, metabolism and Cancer.
The meeting will welcome basic scientists and clinical researchers, coming from the 5 continents, to discuss cutting-edge advances in cytokines and interferon research.
