The Banff Pathology Course is a collaborative effort of the Canadian Association of Pathologists (CAP-ACP), Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology, University of Alberta and the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, University of Calgary to provide a continuing medical education activity for practicing pathologists and residents in training.
The focus for 2017 is Soft Tissue, Bone, and Dermatopathology and will provide a forum for sharing information on current molecular diagnostics in the era of personalized medicine.
After attending this course, participants will be able to:
Discuss the fundamental concepts and methods of molecular diagnostics
Apply new molecular diagnostics in routine practice
Describe the limitations and potential methodological pitfalls of various molecular diagnostic tests
Discuss and appreciate emerging new molecular diagnostic tests, assays, and platforms
The course will be of interest to residents, fellows, and practicing general, anatomic and molecular pathologists.
