Submission Info
Before submitting an abstract, authors are urged to carefully read the information below:
Authors do not need to be members of Arrhythmia Alliance or British Heart Rhythm Society.
Abstracts must not have been accepted for publication elsewhere at the time of submission.
Multiple abstracts around the same subject or using the same dataset (salami publication) is discouraged and may be penalised by the markers where it is felt that the data could have been better presented as a single abstract.
Authors should be aware that the press have open access to the sessions.
Registration
The presenting author must be listed as the first author for the abstract.
All correspondence will be sent to the submitting author only; the submitting author is responsible for making sure that their contact information is correct during the submission process.
You will be asked to provide a username and password to log in to the abstract submission site (each abstract will have a unique username and password). If you forget this information please email becky@heartrhythmcongress.org.uk.
Abstract Acceptance
If your abstract is selected, the presenting author will be eligible to register for the congress at the abstract presenter rate. Other authors do not receive a reduced rate towards registration. Only one author per abstract is considered the presenter.
If your abstract is accepted, one of the authors must be able to present it at the congress; failure to present an abstract will result in a 2 year submission ban for all authors.
If you’re submitting an abstract for the allied professional category and it gets accepted, the presenting author must be an allied professional.
Expenses associated with the submission and presentation of an abstract are the responsibility of the presenter.
Abstract Withdrawal
If you need to withdraw your abstract, the presenting author should email becky@heartrhythmcongress.org.uk stating the abstract number, title and reason for withdrawal.
The deadline to withdraw an abstract is Friday 23 June 2017

Please complete all fields marked (*) as these are required for administration.
You must complete pages 1 to 4 of the submission process. On page 1 you will be asked to give a unique username and password. Please login using this username and password to edit your abstract.
Abstracts can be re-edited and saved before the deadline using the username and password you specified.
Use the preview button at the bottom of the page to see how the abstract will look.
By clicking 'Finish' on Page 5 your abstract will be submitted for marking and cannot be altered. You must click Finish before the abstract deadline (23:59 on Friday 16 June 2017)
Formatting Guidelines
Abstract title – UPPER CASE letters only (max 250 characters).
Abstract text - mixed case letters (max 3000 characters). Please note: Text within images will be included in the total word count.
Please structure your abstract with a brief introduction, explanation of basic methods, results and conclusions/implications.
To insert special characters, tables or images, you must use the relevant icons on the toolbar.
A maximum of one table or diagram is allowed per abstract.
Images should be submitted in a jpg format; they will be reproduced at a maximum size of 8cm x 8cm and should be legible at this size.
Tables should be presented in a legible format. In previous years tables with five columns have been legible. Your table should not exceed ten rows (HRC reserves the right to withdraw an abstract if the tables are illegible).
Graphs with a single x-y axis will be accepted and should be inserted as image files.
Abstract Categories
Allied Professional Oral Abstract Session
Once again, this year there will be a separate Allied Professional Oral Abstract Session; this is to encourage active participation of allied professionals in sharing their experience, clinical practice and research with colleagues. Submissions will be assessed by a dedicated allied professional panel.
To submit your abstract for this session, please select the appropriate box in the submission form. If selected, the first author and therefore presenter must be an allied professional.
Paediatric Abstract Session
In addition, the paediatric members of the HRC Scientific Committee would like to encourage delegates to submit their work and research for either oral presentations or posters. Selected abstracts for the Paediatric session will be presented during the abstract section of the Paediatric programme on Monday 2 October.
