DEAR COLLEAGUES,

On behalf of the organizing committee of IACTA 2017 PUNE it gives me a great pleasure to invite all Cardio-vascular and thoracic anaesthesia enthusiasts for the 20thannual conference of IACTA in the “Oxford of east” Pune from 16th Feb. 2017 till 19th Feb. 2017. After the successful 19th annual conference held in Chennai it will be a challenging task for us to make this conference a success in educational, hospitality and interactive front. I assure you that we will not leave a single stone unturned to make it a memorable event. 

We have selected the theme for the conference as: 

“Caring For Heart – By Devotion Passion and Education” 

In recognition of the newer developments in anaesthesia techniques, broadened perspective and increased demand we should know the basics, advances and controversies of Cardio-vascular and thoracic anaesthesia . Advanced techniques, monitoring and management of complex Cardio-vascular and thoracic anaesthesia is developing as an integral part of our work. The scientific session and workshop will be of immense value for the practicing anaesthesiologists and also the budding anaesthetists. 

Curtain raiser, pre-conference workshop will highlight the basic and advanced techniques and make us understand the intricacies of Cardio-vascular and thoracic anaesthesia. Workshop will include basics and advanced monitoring, caring for the failing heart, simulators, problem management, airway advances etc. Conference will include lectures by eminent speakers, innovative techniques, newer advances, pro-con session, debates, meet the expert etc. We are planning for a session on medicolegal aspects in Cardio-vascular and thoracic anaesthesia and heart transplant. Conference will include Orations by eminent orators, research paper presentation in Janak Mehta awards session and also free papers session. We have launched a website www.iacta2017pune.com with the details of registration, scientific program, and submission of abstracts. This site will be periodically updated with the latest news. 

Pune is the 8th largest metropolis of India. It is well connected with the major cities of India by air, rail and road. Pune is also well known as “oxford of east” with buzzing educational activities. It is a developing IT hub and Auto Hub and also preserves the cultural and social aspect of the great history of Pune. In spite of advancing into a true metropolitan city, Pune preserves the cultural and traditional integrity of this great land of Peshwas. 

I invite you all for this academic extravaganza, mind boggling knowledge filled with fun frolic and traditional hospitality of PUNE.
