Dear Colleagues and Friends,
Greetings from Asia Pacific Council of Optometry.
It is my honour and pleasure to invite you to the 20th biennial Asia Pacific Optometric Congress (APOC) which will be held from 9th to 11th of October, 2015 at the The Gardens Hotel & Residences, Mid Valley City, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
This Congress is jointly hosted by the Asia Pacific Council of Optometry (APCO), the Association of Malaysian Optometrists (AMO) and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. AMO is one of the long standing members of APCO and it is interesting to note that Malaysia hosted the 7th APOC in Kuala Lumpur in 1989. Optometry has since progressed tremendously in the last 25 years in Malaysia with 6 universities now offering 4 year degree programme in Optometry with Government’s provision of legislation and registration in place.
Health care reform initiatives pose new challenges and opportunities for Optometry worldwide. Our theme ‘Optometry: Advancing Eye Health’ will focus on eye and vision care and Optometry’s place in the delivery of the services with far-reaching consequence for the health care system.
The congress will provide renowned international and local speakers, scientific paper sessions, industrial sessions and exhibitions. It will accord you opportunity to share in the best and latest information available and be able to formally and informally share with colleagues and gain the much required CPD points for the year. It is likely that you will meet old friends, as well as make new ones and hope you will have lots of fun in the process.
My colleagues and I look forward to your attendance to this great Optometry event
With warm regards
