20th International Congress of Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders
On behalf of the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society, we
are pleased to formally invite you to attend the 20th International Congress
of Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders in Berlin, Germany from
June 19‑23, 2016.
Berlin is the largest city in Germany and is rich in culture and history with their
opera houses and many famous theaters. There is a lively entertainment scene
with many cafés, restaurants, clubs and street art, as well as museums, palaces
and other historic places to visit.
We look forward to coming together to discuss and learn about the latest
research and advancements and collaborate with colleagues in a city with a
long history of discoveries in medicine and innovations in medical technology.
We are excited to welcome you to Berlin for the 20th International Congress and
hope you will take part in this exceptional Scientific Program. We promise an

Submission Info
Abstract submission for the 20th International Congress is now open. Please visit the abstract submission website for full details and to submit your abstract.
The deadline for 2016 abstract submissions is January 7, 2016 (11:59 PM CST).
Abstracts submissions are collected through the online submission page only - e-mailed abstracts or any other form of submission will not be accepted.
There is no fee to submit an abstract.
Abstract submission will close January 7, 2016. All abstracts must be submitted in full by 11:59 pm CDT on January 7, 2016 to be considered - deadline extension requests will not be granted.
Eligibility
MDS invites all Members and non-members to submit an abstract for review for the 20th International Congress.
Please note the following criteria:
All abstract submissions must be original research.
Abstracts that have been presented at other meetings may be submitted if they have not been previously published and if the meeting name and date are cited accordingly (full detailed information can be found on the abstract submission page).
An abstract may be rejected if the following are detected:
- Plagiarism
- Marketing
- Subject not related to the field of Movement Disorders
- Does not meet basic submission requirements
If your abstract is accepted, you must be prepared to travel to the International Congress in Berlin, Germany, June 19-23, 2016 to present your research on the assigned date.
* Faculty speaking at the International Congress are not required to submit an abstract.
Presentation
All accepted abstracts are presented as a printed poster and will be presented according to their category grouping schedule.
If your abstract is accepted, you (or one of your abstract co-authors) are required to:
Travel to the International Congress, June 19-23, 2016 in Berlin, Germany to present your abstract.
E-mail proof of registration to abstracts@movementdisorders.org by Wednesday, April 6, 2016.
Present your abstract as a printed poster (poster dimensions will be provided on this webpage at a later date).
Present your poster according to the scheduled presentation date/time.
- Abstract presentation dates/times are subject to change; it is therefore advisable to plan to
attend the International Congress in its entirety from June 19-23.
- Abstract presentations are scheduled by category – individual presentation date change
requests will not be granted.
Publication
All accepted and presented abstracts will be published in an electronic supplement to the Movement Disorders journal, online edition.
Published abstracts from recent International Congresses can be found at www.mdsabstracts.com.
