A Welcome Message from the WAS President
It is my great pleasure to warmly invite you to our 22nd biannual congress of the World Association for Sexual Health in Singapore. Our congress is unique in the breadth of scope for sexologists and those working in the field of sexual health to be able to submit your work, to network with peers, colleagues and friends and to enjoy a congress that has such wide appeal across a number of specialities and of global reach. We hope you will find the time to contribute and participate at the next WAS congress in whatever way you can and we look forward to your attendance in this most magnificent city.

GUARANT International (further referred to also as the Congress Secretariat) has been appointed as the official hotel accommodation agent for the 22nd Congress of the World Association for Sexual Health (WAS 2015) and will handle all related arrangements.
A number of hotels of various categories at reduced rates are available for participants of WAS 2015.
Please note that the online Accommodation Form is only accessible with a password. Simply fill in the Personal Data Form and a password will be sent to you. Your password is the same for all online forms.
Reservations will be processed on a “first come, first-served” basis. Due to heavy demand and the fact that distribution of rooms in many hotels is limited, please book your accommodation as soon as possible.
All rates quoted are per room per night including breakfast (except the Victoria Hotel) and 10% service charge and 7% GST (Goods and Services Tax). Should GST or service charge change before the beginning of the Congress, the Congress Secretariat will automatically change the price of your hotel room and inform you in writing about the new rate.
Extras are to be paid directly at the hotel reception before departure.
All participants are invited to submit abstracts for oral or poster presentation in the final program. Presenters may indicate their preference for either oral or poster presentation. For the submission of oral or poster presentations, an abstract in English should be sent. Abstracts can only be submitted electronically. Please note that the deadline for abstract submission cannot be extended due to organizational reasons.
Abstract Deadline Date: 31 MARCH 2015
Please note that the deadline for electronic submission cannot be extended due to organizational reasons. Accepted abstracts will be published in the JSM supplement only after completed registration and payment of the congress registration fee and presentation during the WAS2015 Congress.
Please submit your abstract via this online form
Abstract submission guidelines for moderated poster and podium sessions
Please follow carefully these instructions. Abstracts not prepared correctly will not be considered for presentation. Correction of abstracts cannot be accepted. Authors will be informed on the acceptance of their abstracts by 30 April 2015
Submitted abstracts will be graded individually by peer reviewers based on scientific merit and originality. Abstracts must be written in English and, if accepted, presented in English. The WAS Scientific Committee will determine the format of the presentation. The total number of abstracts allowed to be presented by the same author is 3. Accepted abstracts will be assigned for presentation at a podium session or a moderated poster session at the discretion of the WAS scientific Committee. High quality abstracts in select categories may be chosen for presentation on the Symposia Sessions. Authors of submitted abstracts are required to confirm that their work has not been presented elsewhere. Abstracts not selected for the Podium or Moderated Poster Session will be considered for presentation as a Poster at the congress. Please check the box if you do NOT wish your abstract to be considered for this option.
Publication of the complete study upon which the abstract is based in a journal or electronic publication before presentation is strictly prohibited and will result in outright rejection of the abstract. Multiple abstracts by the same authors based on the same study population or data will also be rejected outright.
Preparation of Abstracts
The size of the abstract is limited to 300 words. The abstract title, names of authors and affiliations are not included in the word count. Please do not submit any tables or figures in the abstract.
The title should clearly define the topic and contain no abbreviations.
List the primary author's full name, followed by the other authors' names. Spell out completely the names of all authors using full first name, middle / initial and last name. (Maintain consistency in authors' names on multiple abstracts to avoid duplication in the Author Index) Authors’ affiliations should be indicated by numbered superscripts with the name of the respective institution(s), city and country typed in upper and lower case and single-spaced without using full-stops.
If the author(s) of the abstract is an employee(s) of or has a financial relationship with the commercial interest which controls the content of the presentation then he/she cannot be the presenting author. However, principal investigators responsible for research and development are permitted to present as long as they resolve their COI and as long as they are not employees of the commercial interest. In all printed publications the presenting author will be denoted with an asterisk (*). Please note: As of May 31, 2015 no changes to the Presenting Author will be made in the Program / Abstract Publication.
Body of Abstract
The authors are fully responsible for the quality and styling of the abstract contents. Please type the text in single-spaces with no indentations, taking a new line for each new paragraph (introduction, methods, results and conclusion). Do not include non-standard symbols, as they will not be recognized and may be displayed wrongly.
The body must contain 4 separate paragraphs: a) Introduction and Objective, b) Methods, c) Results and d) Conclusions.
It is NOT acceptable to state that “The results will be discussed.” Inclusion of specific data is helpful to the reviewers.
Indicate the major new findings of the study.
Standard abbreviations may be used as follows: on first use spell out the full term and follow with the abbreviation in parentheses.
Proprietary names of drugs are not allowed; generic names must be used.
Source of Funding
Grant support must be indicated in the form. If there is no support, “None” must be listed. This is a required field in the submission process.
Abstracts deemed to be purely for marketing purposes will not be accepted.
Conflict of Interest and Disclosure Statement
All authors must disclose conflicts of interest. The submission process will not allow abstracts to be submitted without this information being completed for each author listed on the abstract.
Authors must select a suitable track and area (only one) from the provided list below. For example: if the work pertains to ‘Bio-medical Research’ in the area of ‘Cardiovascular Risk Factors and Sexuality’, the abstract category will be: 3.4
