23rd World Congress of the International Association for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Allied Professions (IACAPAP)
Prague Congress Centre (PCC) *PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC
China, France, South-Africa, Canada in the past, Singapore and Dubai in the future. The IACAPAP biannual Congress is moving all around the planet and stops this year in Prague, The Czech Republic.
IACAPAP has invested a lot in online tools and materials, with a worldwide success eTextbook, a massive open online course (MOOC) available in six languages, a repository of electronic preprints, a social network specifically dedicated to child and adolescent psychiatrists and allied professions and a video channel with YouTube live sessions. But we have still an essential need to see each other in face to face meetings. In “real life”, as we say now.
The IACAPAP Congress is a unique moment where we can meet together, from different cultures, from countries with different resources, but all much involved in child and adolescent psychiatry and mental health. Unformal and free discussions are the necessary cement that put together the bricks that comes from evidence based medicine and biomedical research. This congress will be the occasion to find both: friends open for discussion, and up to date clinical and scientific knowledge presented in a clear and synthetic way.
Many people have worked hard to allow us to meet once again. We have to thank them warmly. In particular Michal Goetz, the IACAPAP 2016 Congress Chair. During the past few years an important part of his life has been dedicated to our community. Thank you Michal and have a wonderful meeting all!
See you soon, I am eager to meet you.
president of IACAPAP
Message from Congress Organizers
Dear Colleagues and Friends,
On behalf of the Czech Psychiatric Association and the Association for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, it is an honor for us to invite you to participate in the 23rd World Congress of the International Association for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Allied Professions. The congress will take place from 23-27 July 2018.
It is a great honor and responsibility for our professional community to have the opportunity to organize this conference. This is the first time the congress will take place in the regions of Central and Eastern Europe, a region known for its turbulent history, rich culture, a tradition of top-quality science, and now for free democracy and economic progress as well.
The aim of the congress is to not only offer a one-of-a-kind opportunity to share views of cutting-edge findings and trends in our field, but also to emphasize the importance of comprehensive care of the mental health of children and adolescents as a main priority of modern society in the 21st century. We would be happy to see both a growth in the trust of our individual fields, but also an increase in the effectiveness of our activities. We would like the individual and unique to join the common, typical, and safe across society. We are convinced that this is how our fields can in at least some way contribute to improve understanding among different cultures and societies of people living in different places.
Our capital city, Prague, is an enchanting, historical place. It has a rich history, unique architecture and a rich culture. Prague is a one-of-a-kind place where the past and present meet and where so many new things for the future originate. We believe that this will be the case for our congress as well. The atmosphere and charm of Prague could support, even if indirectly, the search for new solutions to scientific problems and the creation of new professional relationships, along with personal friendships as well.
We are looking forward to your attendance and will do all we can to make the 23rd World Congress of the International Association for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Allied Professions in Prague something you will look back upon with fondness.

Young Investigators and LMIC Delegates Support
Young Investigator, Student, and Trainee Submissions
IACAPAP highly encourages and supports program submissions from young investigators and presenters, defined as those with bachelor’s level degrees, students, and current trainees (residents, fellows, and post-docs). Presenting authors who meet this criterion should indicate this by checking the “Student/Trainee Submission” box. The Program Committee highly recommends that all Student/Trainee applications be reviewed and approved by a senior co-author/mentor prior to final submission.
