Welcome to Hanoi, host of the 24th Asian Association of Pediatric Surgeons Conference. The conference will be held by the Vietnam Association of Pediatric Surgeons (VAPS) on September 25th - 28th, 2014.

Located in the North, Hanoi is the capital city of Vietnam, which was founded in 1010 under the Ly Dynasty. Hanoi ranks among the world’s most attractive cities. It is slow-paced and pleasant, with a lovely landscape of lakes, shaded boulevards, verdant public parks, colonial French houses and astounding modern skyscrapers. Hanoi is the home of Vietnamese art and literature. The talented artisans, bustling markets, thriving nightlife and excellent food are attracting visitors from all over the world to this ancient city. Hanoi has also been credited with being the safety city in Southeast Asia.

We are on the way to make the 24th AAPS Conference a truly memorable event, both socially and scientifically.

AAPS 2014 CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

You are invited to submit abstracts for oral, poster presentations to the 24th Annual Congress of the Asian Association of Pediatric Surgeons, September 25 - 28, 2014, at the Melia Hotel in Hanoi, Vietnam. This is a multi-discipline pediatric surgery congress, and abstracts of all pediatric specialties are welcome. Authors may choose from the following categories:Miniinvasive Surgery and Robotic Surgery, Neonatal Surgery, Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery, Gastrointestinal Tract Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, Urology, Oncology, Vascular Malformation, Quality of Life after Surgery for Congenital Anomalies, Organ Transplant, Basic Researches and Miscellaneous. However, the Program Committee reserves the right to allocate the category of each accepted abstract in the final scientific program. The official language of the congress is English.

All abstract submissions MUST be Submitted Online.

The abstract submission online will be open in January 1, 2014 and closed in May 31, 2014.

FORMATTING YOUR ABSTRACT

Abstracts should be formatted as follows:

1.     Paper Title - (CAPITAL CASE, Arial, font size 12 Bold)

2.     Full Author List - (Title Case, Arial, font size 10 Bold) with the presenting author's name underlined.

3.     List of Author affiliations and country - (Title Case, Arial, font size 10 italics)

4.     Descriptive text including tables - (Sentence Case, Arial font size 10). * Note that characters and symbols must be inserted into the document using the INSERT SYMBOL function, not by changing the font, and please do not use document styles.

5.     The abstract, without subheadings, should be in the following form: Introduction, Methods, Result, and Conclusions.

6.     Overall word count, excluding titles and affiliations must not exceed 250 words.

7.     Pictures are NOT acceptable.

Papers previously presented at another meeting may be submitted to the AAPS 2014 Congress, providing that the work has not been previously published or accepted for publication. We do not accept previously published or accepted papers for publication. All abstracts must be new and original content OR include at least 50% new data, if previously presented at a meeting. All Abstracts must be submitted in English.

REVIEWING PROCESS

Abstracts will be reviewed and assigned to appropriate sessions.  Authors will be notified regarding abstract acceptance approximately two months after the submission deadline.  Accepted abstracts will be published in an abstract book and the accepted manuscript will be published in Journal of Pediatric Surgery International.
