Dear Colleagues,

On  behalf of the Organizing Committee, it is great honor for me to invite you to the 24th Conference of the Asian Pacific Associaton for the Study of the Liver (APASL). The conference will take place in March 12 - 15, 2015, in Istanbul, Turkey that is the crossroad of many cultures. This is the first time for APASL annual conference will be held in far west of Asia. So it makes this conference more attractive not only for Asian – Pasific countries but also Middle East, European, African and even American countries.

Scientific level of APASL conferences has been improving progressively year by year increased number of submitted presentations and postgraduates courses. The official journal of APASL, Hepatology International is growing rapidly with great efforts by editors, Prof. Masao Omata and Prof. Shiv Sarin, although it was launched only 5 years ago. I believe that this conference will represent the challenge the development of the basic studies as well as clinical researches of Hepatology.

Istanbul is very convenient for the transportation having direct flights from many destinations by different airlines as well Turkish Airline from all over the world. Also there are a lots of hotels closed to convention center.

During its long history, Istanbul has served as the Capital of the Roman Empire (330–395), the East Roman (Byzantine) Empire (395–1204 and 1261–1453), the Latin Empire (1204–1261), and the Ottoman Empire (1453–1922). Located in the center of the old world, this exotic city is famous for its historical monuments and scenic views. It is the only city in the world which spreads over two continents: Asia and Europe which are separated by a narrow strait - the Bosphorus.

Istanbul is adorned with the masterpieces of Turkish art, the great mosques of the Sultans that crown the hills. The city presents an exquisite, majestic and serene silhouette from all directions. The Golden Horn, which is a very secure natural harbor, has played a significant role in the development of the city. The historic city of Istanbul is situated on a peninsula flanked on three sides by the Sea of Marmara, the Bosphorus and the Golden Horn.

Even if you spend only a short time in Istanbul, you can see much of this great heritage. Although renowned for its mystery and history, Istanbul is also a rapidly modernising country with a prime location; one foot in Europe and one in the East. Thus Istanbul retains its fascinating differences, and its contradictions: mosques coexist with churches, and remnants of the Roman Empire still stand alongside ancient Hittite and Neolithic sites.

• ● Rates quoted are in Euros, per room per night, including breakfast, VAT and SHUTTLE TRANSFERS from and to İstanbul Atatürk International Airport, not Sabiha Gökçen International Airport, between following dates and time schedule.

● From 07:00 till 20:00 on March 10 and 11, 2015, every hour for arrivals.

● From 07:00 till 19:00 on March 15 and 16, 2015, every hour in front of the Congress Center for departures.

• ● Deadline for hotel reservations is February 6, 2015. For reservation requests after the deadline date, Dekon may not be able to guarantee any available rooms with the above-mentioned room rates.
• ● Rooms will be reserved only after receiving one night deposit by credit card or bank transfer, and will be confirmed after receiving full payment. Payments should be completed before or on January 31, 2014. If the payment is not completed until that date, only one night reservation will be kept and the remaining unpaid nights will automatically cancelled.
• ● For reservation requests on or after December 5, 2014, full payment by credit card or bank transfer will be required for confirmation. This is valid for individual bookings.
• ● Hotel check-in time is 14:00 and check-out time is 12:00. If you expect to arrive earlier than the check-in time and require guaranteed check-in on arrival, please make your hotel reservations for the day before.

Submission Info

The Scientific Committee invites authors to submit abstracts to be considered for inclusion in the Scientific Program. Abstracts can be submitted through the The 24th Conference of the Asian Pacific Association for the Study of Liver (APASL 2015) website www.apasl2015.org. At this web site you will find detailed instructions regarding the submission procedures. (You can see below for more details)

• Abstracts may only be submitted online at www.apasl2015.org

• Abstracts submitted via e-mail, fax or other will not be accepted.

• After having submitted your abstract you will receive a confirmation page with the following information:

o Reference number of your abstract (for future correspondence and questions).

o Your personal address code (password) should you wish to make corrections to an abstract already submitted (before the deadline for submission).

The Young Investigator Awards

The Young Investigator Awards offer career and project support for young (younger than 35) proven investigators who have achieved junior faculty positions and are committing their lives to the field of hepatology.

Instructions

The online registration system will take you step-by-step through the submission of your abstract. To get access to the abstract form, a login name (e-mail address) and password is required. You may choose your own login name and password. Before submitting your abstract, you can access and edit your abstract successfully. 

Abstracts

1. The Scientific Committee will only accept original scientific material, which has not been published before. However, abstracts presented at local, regional or national meetings may be submitted.

2. Abstracts should be submitted in English.

3. Graphs, tables/statics and pictures should be attached as, .jpg pictures in the insert image module. Maximum size is 1024 x 768 pixels.

Conditions for Submittion Abstract

•The heading must be written in MAJUSCULE and in BOLD by giving briefly the clear purpose of the subject in the box placed on the Abstract Form. 

•The heading should not contain abbreviations. 

•Each authors name who will be mentioned in the abstract must take place on the Abstract Form. The names must be written in the given boxes respectively as follows; first the surnames then the initials of the names of each author should be mentioned. A full stop must be placed after initials. 

•The name of the presenting author must be underlined. 

•The name of the hospital, department and the city must be indicated. 

•The text box placed on the Abstract Form must include only the text part of the abstract. 

•As directed while filling in the form by the system, the abstract must also be sent in a Word format. 

•The abstract must start with the aim, continue with the method and finalized with the conclusion. 

•The abstract must not exceed 250 words. 

•The abstract must be typed in a font size of 11 pt and in Times New Roman. 

•The text must contain only standard abbreviations and the abbreviation must be explained at first occurrence. 

•References or credits must not be mentioned on the abstract. 

•The best category defining the abstract must be marked on the form. 

•Type of the presentation (oral, poster) must be marked on the form.
