24th World Cancer Congress
Dear Congress Participants and Friends,
The French League against cancer and the Alliance of African & Mediterranean French Speaking Leagues Against Cancer (ALIAM) are delighted to host the 2016 World Cancer Congress which will take place from the 1st to the 3rd November 2016 at the Palais des Congrès in Paris.
This is the latest in a long and distinguished line of such international conferences to be held in great cities, and we look forward to welcoming more than 3’000 global cancer and health experts in the City of Lights. Paris is steeped in political, artistic, scientific and medical history, and as such is the most visited city in the world.
Building on the impressive success of the 2014 Congress in Melbourne and its 120 sessions, 350 speakers, 48 exhibitors and 2, 1 billion of opportunities to see, hear and read about the event, our goal is to place the Paris Congress at the forefront of discovery, innovation and development of knowledge for the prevention and treatment of cancer.
We will work with UICC and the Local Host Committee (LHC), including various French, European and African bodies involved in the control of cancer, to further strengthen the global cancer community ability to connect, exchange new ideas and strategies for implementing cancer science, and of course to promote equity in access to cancer care in lower-middle income countries.
The LHC and the Programme Committee are fully committed to design a stimulating and attractive programme over the three days, complemented by a special French touch.
Enjoy an engaging, personal and surprising experience in Paris!
Welcome everyone!
Bienvenue à tous!

“Never before has it been so important to bring together the collective expertise of the world’s leading minds and institutions to push for the very best cancer care and control. The World Cancer Congress provided this opportunity, with a particular focus on cancer prevention, and alignment with Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre’s resolve to provide leadership as a global comprehensive cancer centre. “
“The World Cancer Congress was an invaluable opportunity to share and learn about ‘next’ practice care, stimulate collaborations and explore the development of new local and international partnerships.” Dale Fisher, Chief Executive, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, Australia
