In the name of IASGO - International Association of Surgeons, Gastroenterologists and Oncologists - it is a particular pleasure for me inviting you to the 24th World Congress of IASGO in Vienna from December 5 - 7, 2014.

This Congress will take place at the Medical University of Vienna and will focus on the topic "Multidisciplinary Treatment of

GI Cancer". Specialists and opinion leaders from across the world have agreed to attend and will present state-of-the-art developments and the most recent results.

We established a stimulating program with special consideration to the importance of interdisciplinary cooperation in the field of GI cancer.

We expect attendants from more than 45 countries to ensure a top level of scientific exchange, but simoultaneously allowing time for the intercommunication of new ideas and the building set-up of new networking structures.

Besides these medical tasks, however, the accompanying program provides opportunities for making new friends, deepen friendships and simply come closer across the continents. Vienna is at its very best in December abounding with a variety of historical and cultural highlights. The pre-Christmas time in Vienna repletes with charactaristic Christmas markets and lends this meeting a setting redolent with atmosphere.

Hepato-Gastroenterology publishes work on topics concerning the medical and surgical management of GI diseases, including the exploration of new therapeutic trends.

Original, abstracts undergo preview before being accepted for  24th  IASGO Congress. Accepted abstracts will be published in a supplement of Hepato-Gastroenterology.
The journal publishes several types of abstracts
- Translational research
- Molecular pathology,  genetics,  predictive and prognostic factors
- Clinical studies in medical oncology
- New options in radiotherapy
- Surgical Techniques: outlining new surgical procedures
- Surgery of primary tumor and/or metastatic disease
- Exceptional quality Case Reports
- Feature articles on work/research being carried out in particular geographic locations.

The abstracts should have a focus on the main topics of the congress:
- Translational Research
- Prevention, Screening and Diagnosis
- Bariatric Surgery 
- Colorectal Carcinoma
- Pancreatic Cancer

Manuscripts must be submitted by one of the authors of the manuscript, and should not be submitted by anyone on their behalf. The corresponding author will be contacted with regards to any matters concerning the submission process and acceptance/rejection of the abstract Hepato-Gastroenterology only accepts manuscripts submitted via this online submission system.

NOTE: To prevent delays in publication, we strongly suggest that papers should be checked carefully for grammatical, lexical and spelling errors BEFORE submission, paying particular attention to the formatting style of the journal.

Guidelines for Authors

ABSTRACT
Abstract must not be longer than 200 words. Do not include abbreviations, references or footnotes in the abstract. The abstract must have four sections:
- Background/Aims, outlining the precise purpose of the paper
- Methodology, giving a brief description of materials used and a concise explanation of the methods
- Results, providing a summary of the findings
- Conclusions, explaining the significance of the work.

VIDEO
The video should be focused on the main topics of the conference and should not be longer than 7-8 minutes. Please just submit commonly used video codecs: MPEG, MPEG-4, AVI, WMV and MOV.

LANGUAGE
The standard language of the journal is American English. Any manuscripts which are considered by discretion of the Editor as requiring language correction will not be prepared for publication until professional language correction has been performed.
