Dear friends and colleagues,
It is my great honour to invite you to the 25th Congress of the European Rhinologic Society and the 33rd International Symposium of Infection and Allergy of the Nose that will be held in Amsterdam, June 22-26 2014.
The nose as an interface
An interface is a place where systems, subjects, and organizations, meet and interact so interaction is the main theme of this congress.
The European Rhinologic Society (ERS) will be commemorating 50 years of providing the prominent forum for the exchange of expertise and experience among specialists in rhinology, skull base surgery, allergology and facial plastic surgery.
It is no accident that the 25th Congress of the European Rhinologic Society, being held in conjunction with the 33rd International Symposium on Infection and Allergy of the Nose, is being held in Amsterdam, the beautiful and historic capital of the Netherlands. After all, the very first meeting was organised in the Netherlands by Professor Van Dishoeck in 1963.
We dream of a congress which will have optimal digital possibilities, discussion, instructional sessions, symposia, round tables and workshops as well as ‘meet the experts’ sessions. A congress where everybody is an active participant and contributes to the discussion. A congress where otorhinolaryngologists will interact with allergists, immunologists, neurosurgeons, radiologists, respiratory physicians and many others.
The ERS/ISIAN 2014 will take place in the beautiful former Amsterdam Stock Exchange in the super centre of Amsterdam within walking distance of the Central Station and most of the cultural highlights of the city.
Surrounded by all categories of hotels, Amsterdam will welcome you all to enjoy the congress but also the newly opened Rijksmuseum, the beautiful van Gogh museum or an evening with the Concertgebouw orchestra. Come and enjoy a bicycle ride through the city or a boat ride through the canals.
The weather in June is usually pleasant and fresh with temperatures of 20-25 degrees. We welcome you all to Amsterdam, June 2014 and will work hard to make this the best ‘interface’ you have been to in years.
