Event Overview
Welcome message:

Continuing Education Company has been organizing its Primary Care Conference Series for the past 25 years. The Primary Care Summer Conference is designed to update primary care clinicians in rapidly changing therapeutic areas. The emphasis is on practical and useful information for clinical practice. Join us this June or July when we hold the 26th Annual Primary Care Summer Conference. This conference will be repeated in two sessions for convenience in scheduling. Sessions I and II will be held at the Kiawah Island Golf Resort in Kiawah Island, South Carolina. Located on a beautiful barrier island just a few miles from historic Charleston, Kiawah Island is ten miles of wide, immaculate, ocean beach on which one - or two - might walk or cycle for hours and hours without interruption. Soothing by day, utterly romantic by night, the beach is complemented by the island’s river, meandering lagoons, and pristine marshlands, and closes each sun washed day safe beneath its own star studded southern sky.

The Primary Care Summer Conference Series offers physicians two date options:

June 25-29, 2018: Session I - Kiawah Island Golf Resort, Kiawah Island, SC

July 2-6, 2018: Session II - Kiawah Island Golf Resort, Kiawah Island, SC

Program Objectives

As a result of this conference, participants will be able to:

Assess and provide patients with an accurate diagnosis and optimal care for a broad range of disorders seen in primary care.

Utilize current guidelines in the diagnosis and management of commonly encountered therapeutic issues.

Formulate comprehensive evidence-based interventions and treatment strategies that will lead to the reduction of modifiable risk factors and improved long term outcomes.

For thousands of years, eagles, egrets and other natural residents of Kiawah have enjoyed its lush, semi-tropical environment, while remaining sheltered from the world. Today, Kiawah Island remains a haven for those who stay. However, the reasons for visiting have become more varied. From ten miles of romantic, unspoiled beach to 30 miles of paved, biking trails. From kayaking and canoeing adventures to alligator and birding walks. From oceanfront fine dining to riverside oyster roasts.

Then there’s the golf - spectacular golf. Five championship courses, including the world-famous Ocean Course, host of the 1991 Ryder Cup Matches and the 2003 World Cup of Golf. The Ocean Course was also host to the Senior PGA in 2007 and the PGA Championship in 2012.

This is Kiawah Island, where nearby Charleston’s influences abound. The choices are plentiful and the people are polite to a fault. Kiawah’s friendly character is derived from the gracious Charleston lifestyle, in which Southern Hospitality is never the exception and every meal is a celebration of tastes. The island’s proximity to such a charming and desired destination is not only convenient. It’s also unique. The transportation is seamless; the resort experience unlike any other. Kiawah is a popular destination for family vacations. From luxurious hotel accommodations to beautiful villas, there is no beach resort quite like Kiawah Island Golf Resort.
