General Info

Calling all potential sponsors and exhibitors

We are delighted to offer you the exciting opportunity to partner with us to strengthen good nursing practice in the care of children and families in the African context!

The Child Nurse Practice Development Initiative, in collaboration with the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital, are hosting the second ever ‘Building Children’s Nursing for Africa’ conference for neonatal, paediatric and paediatric critical care nurses in Cape Town from the 22 April to 24 April 2015.

We have invited all nurses with an interest in the nursing care of children, including nurse leaders, educators and clinician nurses, to join us to explore and build on good nursing practice in Africa. Delegates will be provided a platform to share and celebrate what they do, and to discuss what they know works best for sick children and their families in Africa.

Background

Exciting policy and implementation strategies at National Department of Health level regarding child health and health care provision require a renewed commitment by children’s nurses to deliver best practice in their local settings.

The intentionally participative conference design recognises each participant’s value and aims to encourage creative contribution and reflection on actual, day-to-day children’s nursing practice. It further aims to serve as an academic forum for professional nurses and those who work with sick children in the African context. Local nurses will also be exposed to international nurses – experts in the field of effective practice change to improve outcomes for sick new-borns and children - from Kenya, Malawi and North and South America. Attendees are expected from across all South African provinces and from at least 8 Sub-Saharan countries.  Delegates from the UK and the Americas are also anticipated.

In order to attract as many nurses as possible, we have kept the registration fees low and would appreciate your sponsorship support in this venture.

Sponsorship opportunities

We have several opportunities for sponsorship; these are detailed in the sponsorship info pack that is available for download below. We look forward to working together to make this a successful conference.

If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact the conference organisers.

Yours sincerely,

Minette Coetzee
