The Nepalese Forum for Medical Microbiology (NFMM) and Nepal Polymer Institute (NPI) jointly with CAS-TWAS Centre of Excellence for Biotechnology (CoEBio), Institute of Microbiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, with support from American Society for Microbiology (ASM) and the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID), is pleased to announce the ”2nd International Conference on Infectious Diseases and Nanomedicine-2015 (ICIDN-2015)” from December 15-18, 2015 in Kathmandu, NEPAL. The first edition of this tri-annual series of ICIDN held in Kathmandu in December 2012 was highly successful in bringing together more than 180 participants from 21 countries across the globe. ICIDN-2015 has the motto: “Interdisciplinary Collaborative Education for Research & Innovation in Biomedical Sciences”. The primary objective of this meeting is to provide the unique global platform for presentation and rigorous discussion on recent trends, challenges and solutions path in various aspects of infectious diseases and nanomedicine. It equally aims at strengthening an intensive scientific ties and network of biomedical scientists from Asian region to the rest of the world in support of systematic understanding of infectious diseases and applications of nanomedicine to disease for the benefit of humankind.
ICIDN-2015 will particularly focus on the ‘Molecular microbiology of infectious diseases and potential applications of nanotechnology for their diagnosis and treatments’. This in turn will provide the unique opportunity for presentation and sharing of innovations of microbiologists, immunologists, molecular biologists, epidemiologists, pathologists, chemists, pharmacists, polymer/biomedical engineers, material scientists, biotechnologists, nanotechnologists, clinicians, public health experts, and other biomedical scientists from both the academia and industries. Emerging infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance, drug design, and drug delivery will form an integral part of the ICIDN-2015 endeavors. A pre-conference workshop arranged on the related topic will also provide first-hand information to the students and early career scientists. The conference and accompanying workshop are hoped to be a milestone in promoting interdisciplinary education and researches in the field of microbiology, material sciences and nanotechnology in Nepal and the region.
We would like to extend our warm invitation to all the related scientists, university faculties, researchers, students, healthcare professionals, policy makers, and members from industry to attend and contribute to the ICIDN-2015 in Kathmandu, Nepal from December 15-18, 2015.
This conference is expected to act as a forum not only for the exchange of academic ideas but also to foster the cultural exchanges and collaborations. The scientific program, special social events planned by the organizers and the cultural heritage of Kathmandu accompanied by warm hospitality of the Nepalese people will probably make this event an unforgettable memory. Please plan to join us at ICIDN-2015 in Kathmandu !
We eagerly look forward to welcoming all of you in Kathmandu in mid-December.
