Event Overview
Welcome message:

The evolving landscape of perioperative medicine has dramatically increased the scope and complexity of anesthesia care. New techniques, new drugs, new evidence, quality and safety concerns all play a role in today’s practice environment. This conference will focus on areas of anesthetic care that require integrating these new aspects of medical care. Increasingly, we need to know not only whether techniques are effective, but also that they are high quality, safe, evidence-based, and cost effective.

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:

Describe the peri-partum management of preeclampsia in 2018;

Describe the role of the anesthesiologist in modern trauma care;

Discuss the relevance of the journal Anesthesiology in 2018;

Describe how the pain experience throughout the human lifespan affects the approach to anesthesiology cases;
