Beware of pirates and poachers!
SABCS® contracts for blocks of hotel rooms at discounted rates for the benefit of our attendees. Pirates and poachers not only jeopardize the symposium’s ability to meet its obligations, but also place attendees in danger of increased fees, credit card theft and phony reservations, resulting in no hotel room at all!
PIRATE: A fictitious business, often with a name like “Convention Housing Services.” A pirate will contact faculty, exhibitors or potential attendees. The pirate claims to be working with the symposium and will pressure you to reserve and pay for a hotel room immediately due to low inventory. They charge your credit card and also collect the information for future use but no hotel rooms are reserved.
POACHER: Hotel poachers, also known as third-party room-block marketing firms, often present themselves as either the official housing agency for a conference or authorized by it to book hotel reservations. A poacher offers hotel rooms outside of the symposium’s contracted block. For the attendee, this will result in higher hotel rates and loss of the opportunity to receive a 15% discount off your symposium registration fee. (see https://www.sabcs.org/2018-SABCS-sup-sup/Registration/2018-SABCS-sup-sup-Registration)
REMEMBER: NEITHER SABCS® NOR ITS HOUSING BUREAU, ORCHID EVENTS, WILL TELEPHONE INDIVIDUALS REGARDING THE PURCHASE OF HOTEL RESERVATIONS.
PIRATES and POACHERS often misrepresent themselves by illegally using our logo.

Dear Supporters and Friends:
The 41st Annual San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium® (SABCS®), will take place December 4 – 8, at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas.
As the field of breast cancer research continues to reveal exciting new possibilities, SABCS® continues to stand out as the leading international translational meeting. Approximately 7,500 medical professionals from over 80 different countries gather annually to acquire and exchange information, and to collaborate with their colleagues. The audited 2017 attendance report provides attendee demographics in detail.
We continue to work hard to attract both new and returning attendees by introducing new programming, such as the annual debate which debuted in 2017, and expanding established programs such as the Educational Sessions, 12 of which are offered this year.
The preliminary program is one of our strongest to date. Don't forget that is only one component of the symposium. There will be approximately 46 platform presentations and 1,000 posters derived from peer-reviewed abstracts representing the state-of-the-art in worldwide breast cancer research, treatment and related topics.
Patient benefit is the ultimate outcome not only of the symposium itself but also post-symposium resources, such as the SABCS® On Demand, which disseminate information worldwide. Our supporters make all of this possible, for which we are sincerely grateful.
New sponsorships have been added and established ones changed in order to provide a broad range of opportunities. If you are considering supporting SABCS®, then we hope that you will find that the options offered in this prospectus meet your needs.
We invite you to contact the symposium office at email@example.com or 210-450-1550 regarding any questions
