On behalf of the Organizing Committee of the 42 nd Annual Meeting of the ISPN, we warmly invite you to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Dear Colleagues,
The Scientific Committee of ISPN is delighted to announce that we are now ready to receive your abstracts for the 42nd Annual Meeting of the ISPN in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The main topic of our meeting is “Pediatric Epilepsy: Diagnosis, Treatment and Outcome”. We look forward to an outstanding event in the beautiful city of Rio de Janeiro, from November 9-13, 2014. We are very pleased to welcome you at the ISPN annual meeting as well as at the pre & post-meeting conferences .We invite you to share the cutting-edge knowledge with internationally well-known experts.
Papers on the main topic are highly welcomed.

Abstract Submission Process
A. Submitting an Abstract
You can use the abstract submission system at the 42nd Annual ISPN Meeting website (http://ispn2014.org/abstract/). You will need to register and create a username and password. This will give you access to submit a new abstract or amend an existing one.
B. Deadlines
Refund Policy: Registration fees will be refunded only upon written request justifying the cancellation, forwarded to the Executive Secretariat of the event.

C. Abstracts Review By June 15th, 2014 the authors will be notified of “provisionally accepted” of the abstracts.
D. Final Acceptance and Publication Final acceptance and publication of the abstract in Child’s Nervous System requires that the presenting author must register for the meeting before July 10th, 2014.
E. Abstract Limitation and Instructions Title should not exceed 25 words and abstract should be limited to 2500 characters, not including titles, authors’names and affiliations. Abstracts should be organized as follows: Introduction, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
F. Selection of preferred presentation formats Author may indicate their presentation format preference but please note that the final decision on the presentation format will be determined by the Scientific Committee. Abstracts are peer-reviewed and scored on scientific merit, originality, and relevancy to the field of pediatric neurosurgery.
“Oral presentation” to be fully presented in oral format (7 minutes to present +3 minutes for discussion) “Flash presentation” (3 minutes to present + 1 minute for discussion). “E-poster presentation” is displayed continuously throughout the meeting as a digital poster, available for review on multiple computer monitors and large LCD screens in the convention center.
G. Official Language The official language of the meeting is English and abstract should be submitted in English. No simultaneous translation will be available.
H. Awards
Travel Scholarship Authors must send an application letter to Chair of Ways and Means Committee when they receive an acceptance letter from the Scientific Committee. The Ways and Means Committee will select the ones that will be granted with the travel scholarship according to their academic excellence and economic status of their countries. The scholarships will be awarded at the Gala Dinner and they include travel expenses allowance, certificates and registration fee waiver.
Trainee Awards International fellows and residents attending the meeting are eligible for this award.
1. Authors of the most outstanding abstracts will have reduced a registration fee. The number of Trainee Awards will depend on funds available and interested trainees.
2. Those who wish to apply for the Trainee Award are required to apply online at the time of the abstract submission. The trainee must attend the meeting and present the abstract.
Best Poster Award Best Posters will be judged based on the scientific and presentation merits. Authors will be notified if their posters will be considered for an award. They will be required to submit their poster electronically by October 15th , 2014 so that it can be reviewed by the Scientific Committee. One or two posters can be selected as Best Poster in each category. And the winner of the best poster award will be recognized during the meeting.
