Evangeline B. Handog, MD, FPDS
President, International Society of Dermatology

The International Society of Dermatology (ISD) started the Continental Congress of Dermatology (CCD) in 2010 to offer a venue for further learning in between the International Congress of Dermatology (ICD) which is held every four years. Hence, the first CCD in Cali, Colombia, was spearhead by Prof. Rafael Falabella, the second one in St. Petersburg, Russia was organized by Prof. Jana Hercogova, and in 2012, Prof. Ncoza Dlova was at the forefront in Durban, South Africa. All of these were very successful in promoting dermatology in their continent and in bringing out the best of the organizational leadership of the host country.

This year, Manila, Philippines becomes the apple of the international community’s eye. As a Filipina, I am one hundred and one percent certain that the faculty will be very reputable and respected, the scientific content will be excellent, the venue superb, and the hospitality unparalleled. I am more than confident that the PDS lead by its President Dr. Rosalina Nadela, will do their very best to ensure success.

Please mark your calendar, as the 4th CCD and the 37th Philippine Dermatological Society’s Annual Convention will be another sterling and memorable educational event to remember.

Welcome to the Philippines. Mabuhay!
