Dear Colleagues,

It is my great pleasure to welcome you all to the 5^th Asian Vaccine Conference (ASVAC 2015 in Hanoi, Vietnam, from 12 – 14 June 2015, jointly organized by National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology (NIHE), Vietnam and Immunization Partners in Asia Pacific (IPAP).

It is no doubt that immunization is a proven tool for controlling and eliminating life-threatening infectious diseases and is estimated to avert between 2 and 3 million deaths each year. It is one of the most cost-effective health investments, with proven strategies that make it accessible to even the most hard-to-reach and vulnerable populations. As results of the immunization program in the last 30 years, Vietnam has eradicated polio in the year 2000, eliminated neonatal tetanus in the year 2005,  controlled vaccine preventable diseases such as diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, measles, hepatitis B, Japanese encephalitis, cholera, typhoid… that contributing to achieve the Millennium Development  Goal 4 target for reducing child mortality in Vietnam.

ASVAC is Asian and International Platform where the experts and stakeholders exchange the knowledge and cooperation in this field and across different topics, and to toward “A world where no person shall suffer from preventable diseases”.This conference is the 5^th one in the series that started in Siem Reap Kingdom (Cambodia) in 2009 and was followed by the editions in Manila (Philippines) in 2010, Jakarta (Indonesia) in 2011 and in Cebu (Philippines) 2013.

This time, the theme of conference is introducing more vaccines and reaching everyone. The introduction of new vaccines targeted against several important causes of major killer diseases, such as pneumonia, diarrhoea and cervical cancer can be used as a catalyst to scale up complementary interventions. In addition to reducing mortality, these new vaccines will prevent morbidity with resulting economic returns even in countries that have already succeeded in improving mortality rates. Innovations in existing vaccines will bring additional benefits, such as greater effectiveness, thermo-stability, easier administration and lower cost.

Participants from academia, research institutions, health care professionals, policy makers, and manufactures are expected. Plenary lectures and poster presentations will stimulate interaction among participants.

Registration will only be valid upon receipt of the full payment by the registration department according to the deadline indicated. An email confirming registration will only be sent after receipt of the required fees.

The conference organisers of ASVAC 2015 have secured guestrooms with preferential rates at Meliá Hanoi (official conference hotel) and other supporting hotels that are conveniently located around the conference venue location.

Submission Info

All abstracts must be submitted online via the congress website only. Abstracts submitted by fax, email, or post will NOT be accepted. In submitting the abstract, the author grants the Organizers of 5th Asian Vaccine Conference (ASVAC 2015) the right to publish the abstract both in hard and electronic forms.

Abstract Submission Deadline

All abstracts must be submitted on or before 6th January 2015. The online submission system will be closed at 24:00 hours (UCT/GMT +8hrs), 7th January 2015. All abstracts submitted after the deadline will not be accepted.

Abstract Acceptance Notification

Notice of acceptance/rejection will be sent via email to the corresponding authors on or after 12th February 2015. If the abstract is accepted, author will have until 12th March 2015 to register for the congress. All selected poster presenters who are not register by this date will not be included in the conference materials.

Guidelines for Abstract Submission

1. Abstracts must be written exclusively in English.
2. There is only 1 mode of presentation: Poster presentation
3. Abstract must be limited to 250 words and must be concise and clear, highlighting the most relevant aspects, findings and conclusions. The word limit for the abstract title is 20.
4. Use only standard abbreviations. Special or unusual abbreviations are not recommended. If otherwise necessary, the latter should be placed in parenthesis after the first appearance of the full word, except for unit symbols. Numeral rather than words may be used to indicate numbers.
5. Section breaks are not mandatory.
6. References are not required for abstract submission.
