The 5th Biennial Schizophrenia International Research Society Conference will take place
2-6 April 2016 in Florence, Italy at the Firenze Fiera Congress Center.
Registration is now open and abstract submissions and award nominations are now being accepted!
The Schizophrenia International Research Society Biennial Conference focuses on new drug development and the status of cutting edge basic and translational research in the field of schizophrenia. More than 1700 researchers from 54 countries attended the 4th Biennial Conference in Florence in 2014. We look forward to welcoming you again to Florence, Italy!

The 5th Biennial Meeting is taking place at the Firenze Fiera in Florence Italy, 2-6 April, 2016. Click here to register for the Biennial Meeting.
You are encouraged to pre-register for the conference by 1 March 2016. All meeting registration fees will increase by €50 after this date.
MEETING REGISTRATION CATEGORIES AND FEES (VAT Included):
SIRS Member Delegate – Must have paid 2015 and 2016 membership dues. Rate: €450. Being a member in both 2015/2016 will result in a savings on registration of 250 Euros.
SIRS New Member Delegate – Must have paid 2014 membership dues. Rate: €490. Being a member in 2016 will result in a savings on your registration of 210 Euros.
SIRS Student Member – Must have paid 2015 and 2016 student membership dues. Rate: €170. Being a student member in 2015 & 2016 will result in a savings of 80 Euros.
SIRS New Student Member – Must have paid 2016 membership dues. Rate: €210. Being a student member in 2016 will result in a savings on your registration of 40 Euros.
SIRS Non-Member Student – Rate: €250.
Rates will be offered for those who choose not to become a SIRS member. The non-member delegate rate is €700. The non-member student rate is €250 until 1 March and €300 on 2 March or later.
To qualify as a student, one must be a full-time graduate student, medical student, or student in the first two years of a post-doctoral fellowship program at a university, in a field relevant to schizophrenia research. A letter from the student’s immediate supervisor verifying his/her status and relevant field will be required for registration.

The Biennial Conference will take place at the Firenze Fiera Congress Center in the heart of Florence, Italy, a city which has been ranked by Forbes as one of the most beautiful cities in the world and home of many famous sites including the Ponte Vecciho, Duomo, Bartolomeo Ammanati’s Fountain of Neptune, art galleries including The Uffizi Gallery and Pitti Palace and of course Michelangelo’s famous sculpture, David.
Air Travel and Ground Transportation
Amerigo Vespucci Airport in Florence is 4 km from the city centre and can be easily reached by taxi or with the Ataf/Sita ‘Viola in Bus’ shuttle service, approximately 15 – 20 minutes. The shuttle connects the airport to the central railway station of Santa Maria Novella. Santa Maria Novella station is across the street from the Firenze Fiera Congress Center.
The 5th Biennial SIRS Conference is taking place in Florence, Italy on2-6, April 2016. The abstract submission portal is now open and accepting proposals for Symposia, Oral Presentations, and Poster Presentations.
Poster – Poster board presentation in a general session.
Oral – 10 minute oral presentation with 5 minutes Q&A from the audience.
Symposium – A moderately formal 2 hour session that includes a chair, 4 presenters, and a discussant.
