The Organizing Committee members are excited to note that the Fifth ESWI Influenza Conference enjoys wide interest from the global influenza community. No less than 230 abstracts had been submitted by the 15 May deadline, while 80 young researchers have applied for a Young Scientist Travel and Accommodation Grant. A list of young scientist grant awardees is now available on the Young Scientist page on this website.
Submitted abstracts are currently being reviewed by the Programme Committee members. However, due to the large number of submissions, the Committee’s final decision is expected to be known on Wednesday 11 June 2014 instead of 2 June.

The abstract submission deadline expired on 15 May 2014. Submitted abstracts can still be edited online until Tuesday 20 May 2014.

Late breaker abstract submissions will be open until 15 August 2014. Late breaker abstracts present data of unquestioned immediate significance, gathered after the regular abstract submission deadline has closed. Data analyzed after the regular submission deadline (15 May 2014) should not be submitted as late breaker research if the data do not meet a high scientific threshold. Late breaker abstracts will be accepted to be presented orally or as posters at the conference.
