5th Symposium on Molecular pathology in Oncology – Hot topics
5th Symposium on Molecular pathology in Oncology - Hot topics is organized by The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust and would be held on Mar 15, 2018 at The Royal College of Physicians, London, England, United Kingdom.
The meeting will engage and inform all health professionals and researchers interested in molecular diagnostics in cancer. The faculty will be available for lively discussion and debate between sessions. With the rise of clinical genomics and digital imaging in mind, our latest symposium will provide an update on recent technological developments and their introduction into the diagnostic arena.
The morning session will showcase applied research taking place in the Centre for Molecular Pathology (CMP) at our Sutton site, where these new approaches are driving forward clinical research across the oncological spectrum. In this session you will hear from two leading clinical exponents of circulating tumour DNA (ctDNA) profiling on how the technique is enabling personalised treatment of cancer patients. The significant challenges – and opportunities – associated with this field is bound to trigger much discussion over lunch.
This Conference is themed by tumour type, with an outstanding faculty, all associated with the Centre for Molecular Pathology, describing how the latest clinical trials in their respective areas are being assisted by combining established methodologies with new technologies, including gene panel sequencing and digital droplet PCR. We will also hear how progress on Genomics England’s 100,000 genomes project is beginning to impact on cancer diagnostics.
