Our new website signals a renewal of our mission which is:
The advancement of the Art and Science of Anesthesiology by:
1) The encouragement of its members to pursue original investigations;
2) the development of methods of teaching;
3) free and informal interchange of ideas.
And the new website presages a period of transformation of our Association.
We had the great fortune to have our 2014 meeting at Stanford University and will hold our 2015 meeting at Vanderbilt University, two institutions that have added to the academic glory of our specialty. In 2016 we will experience a dramatic change, linking our meeting to the IARS, with the expectation of expanding our academic influence throughout the specialty. That linked meeting will be in San Francisco. The tradition of the “Host Program” will continue. The Host institution can be from anywhere in the country, and, as now, can present any topics that exemplify the spirit and breadth and depth of their institution. I encourage you to nominate your department and institution as host for 2016 and beyond and share in our new adventure.
