On behalf of the organizing committee, we are pleased to invite you to ARVO-Asia 2017 be held on February 5 - 8, 2017 in Brisbane, Australia.
Collaborations across research disciplines, amongst countries and between the laboratory and the clinic are becoming increasingly important in times of expanding public health needs and tightening resources. It is important and timely that we discuss how we can build bridges that ensure our discoveries translate into effective prevention, diagnosis and treatments for patients with eye disease across the globe. With this in mind the theme of ARVO-Asia 2017 is “Bridging disciplines and disparities: Connecting eye research with health outcomes.”
We have an exciting programme of plenary lectures, symposia, workshops, papers and posters planned, including the role of public health issues and infectious diseases in eye related conditions.
ARVO-Asia 2017 will be held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre (BCEC) in South Brisbane. Within walking distance to the Brisbane River, parklands, inner city beach, restaurants, cafes, a cultural precinct (the Queensland Performing Arts Centre, Gallery of Modern Art, Queensland Art Gallery and Museum), evening and weekend markets, the BCEC is perfectly located to make your conference experience full and memorable.
After hosting the G20 summit in 2014, Brisbane has been called Australia’s new world city. It is accessible with daily direct flights from Asia, North America, the Middle East and the Pacific. It is a compact and walkable city, within easy reach of the Gold Coast, the Great Barrier Reef and Australia’s iconic attractions. With its sub-tropical climate, it is also a great escape from the northern hemisphere winter!
