The AfSBT will host its 7th AfSBT International Congress in 2014. Zimbabwe is hosting the event and the venue of the congress is Victoria Falls. The congress is organised by AfSBT through the Local Organising Committee (LOC). One of the key committees of the LOC is the Scientific Committee (SC). The Scientific Committee is composed of the International Scientific Committee (ISC) and the Local Scientific Committee (LSC). National Blood Service Zimbabwe (NBSZ) is partnering Zimbabwe Medical Association (ZiMA) and Zimbabwe Quality Assurance Programme (ZINQAP) in organising this congress. ZiMA and ZINQAP are also represented in the LOC and LSC.

Guidelines for Abstract Submissions – AfSBT Congress 2014
- Submissions of papers must be strictly in English or French language
- Authors who intend to make scientific oral or poster presentations are required to submit structured abstracts based on the format of the Africa Sangune Journal as follows:
- Introduction
- Aims and Objectives
- Study design and methods
- Results
- Discussion and Conclusions
- The length of an abstract should not be more than 500 words.
- A list of 6 key words in the study must be included.
- All text must be written in Word form. Please, do not use the HTML code.
- Abstracts from reviewers of processes or systems of value to blood transfusion practice may be submitted in the following format:
- Introduction
- Nature of the problem/ challege
- Body work (i.e. processes undertaken, actions and outcomes)
- Closing remarks
- References must be listed and fully indexed
- Posters must be 200 mm long X 160 mm wide, approximately.
