On behalf of the Society of Anaesthesiologists and Reanimatologists of Latvia, it is an honour to invite you to join us in Riga for the 7th Baltic International Congress in Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care which takes place on 4-6 December 2014. The biannual Baltic International Congress in Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care is the largest gathering for Baltic anaesthesiologists and intensivists. It features keynote speakers from the Baltic and Scandinavian countries, as well as some of the biggest names from Europe and the rest of the World. The scientific program, which will be run in three concurrent sessions, is designed to promote interaction between audience and speaker - consisting of lectures, panel discussions and hands-on workshops.

Emphasis will be put to the evidence based medicine, issues of patients’ safety in the perioperative period, clinical guidelines, use of imaging techniques in regional anaesthesia and intensive care medicine, efficacy of intensive care including new methods and topics for anaesthetic nurses.

Abstracts must be submitted in English via e-mail to the Organizing Committee of the Congress and must reach it not later than June 30th 2014. Abstracts received after that date may not be accepted.
All abstracts must be written in English. Please write as simply as possible and avoid language mistakes. 
Abstracts can be submitted online via the website www.anaesthesiology.lv filling out the registration form (You may register without paying the registration fee. Deadline for early registration will be extended until July 30th)You may also send your abstract to Congress Secretariat via e-mail: info@anaesthesiology.lv Do not forget to indicate the presentation type - oral, poster or publication only.


Abstracts should include:
1) the title;
2) the author(s);
3) affiliations of the authors;
4) text of the abstract:
Background and Goal of study; 
Material and Methods; 
Results and Discussion; 
Conclusion. 


The title should have a character count of no more than 150 (characters are defined as letters, spaces, and punctuation).


The title should be followed by full authors’ names and surnames. 
Affiliations (including the institution, city, and the country) of all the authors (if different) should be given, designated with asterisks. 
The name of the presenting author should be underlined. Presenting author must register to attend the Congress.


The abstract should have a character count of no more than 3000 (including spaces). Standard abbreviations may be used, others should be described in full.


The text must be single spaced, 12 point, Times New Roman font, British spelling style. All data must be presented in textual format (no tables and figures are included).
